There's some fancy properties right there. Last time I was in Chicago (1979) all I got to see was the Sears Tower lol

Wicker Park is not a suburb, it is a neighborhood within the city of Chicago.
I still call it the Sears Tower! My son's office building is across the street.
It's a mystery to me, TV portrays to the world that US cities are all run down hellholes.
I travelled across the country and all I saw were places like this. 👍
Im sure there are areas in most cities that are best avoided, but you certainly can't judge anything by what you see on TV.. A friend in England took me for tea at her mothers house and that sweet little old lady asked me if I had a gun in my purse. That made me realize what the perceptions of Americans were!

He showed me his gun collection. They used to go hunting in the winter woods.
I'll never forget it as he pointed out his 'shopping' gun!? I just laughed.
Later that day we went to the shop and when we returned home, as he took off his coat he placed the shopping gun back in its place in the gun cabinet.
I've got to tell you I was shocked. He explained that you had to be careful when out and about!
I found it astonishing. He didn't bat a eyelid. It was perfectly normal for him to carry a gun.
Another time I was in florida and took a wrong turn off the interstate. O boy! Creatures came out of the shadows shuffling like zombies over to the car offering drugs and all sorts. I hit the gas and got out of there.
Other than that America was great 😂👍
I do know some gun owners, Wisconsin is a big deer hunting state and I understand rifles and shotguns but not handguns. They frequently are owned by fearful people who have very different social/political views from me.
I can kinda understand the hunting thing but not really. I get my meats from the butcher lol
I do get it about fearful people. It must be awful to live like that?
