A few weeks ago, Freebitco.in experienced a significant outage. The site was down, and communication from the team was minimal. Understandably, this led to concerns among users, with some fearing they'd pulled the rug...

Even I began to assume the worst although I have consistently said that they have a profitable business model based on the gambling side of their website, so a rug-pull might net them a huge amount of one-off stolen bitcoin, but it would also cut off their residual gambling profits...

Freebitco.in is BACK! 😎

Then the site came back, and almost everything was working as normal, as I explained in this blog post last month:

The Wheel of Fortune is Spinning Again! ( ꩜ _ ꩜)/⁭ ⁭

Since then, there is more good news to bring you, so I made this follow-up video about the latest from Freebitco.in:

Not only have the daily "Wheel of Fortune" spins come back, users are now receiving double the number of daily spins they previously qualified for. This increase is set to continue for the next 12 months, presumably to compensate us for the several months during which the wheel spins disappeared without any explanation.

For those of us who have locked FUN tokens, the loss of multiple wheel spins every day was particularly annoying. If you lock up 250,000 FUN tokens on the Freebitcoin website, (as I have) it qualifies you for 13 wheelspins per day.

So it's been a pleasant surprise to get 26 wheelspins per day for the last few days. If all goes well, that should continue for the next 12 months. 🥳

The Only Downer - Lower Interest Rates

The annual return on locked tokens has decreased from 25% to 10%, which is a bit sad 🥺 and makes HBD (and PWR on the second tier Hive blockchain) even more attractive than they were before.

In short, Freebitco.in appears to be making a concerted effort to restore user trust and bring the good times back again. If you're a regular user or hold FUN tokens, now would be a good moment to log in, check your account and take advantage of the increased wheel spins...

I took all my BTC out when the problems started last year. I had already been annoyed because I had never been getting the promised interest rate and they never answered my emails about that, so all the down time was the final straw. But my FUN is still locked up so I should still be getting the free spins.

Seems like the site is still having a few problems. The week before last I went there and was given 100+ spins everyday. But last week I didn't get any spins. We shall see what this week brings! (none so far)

I've greatly reduced my exposure on the site too. Interesting to compare our experiences with the spins. They started and stopped for me too a while back, but I've consistently received 26 (double my qualifying rate) per day for the last few days.

I've been making good use of the extra spins! I have a fair amount of FUN locked for a year, but I have to check exactly how many it is. I'm still rebuilding my BTC holding after spending most of the first batch on FUN tokens...lol! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I'm glad you are getting the extra spins too. A pity about the reduction in the locked-FUN interest rate. Hopefully you'll win lots of reward points (as well as sats) on the daily rolls to boost your hourly earning rate!

Thanks a lot, I appreciate that. I do get a fair amount of reward points and sats, but also way too many lottery tickets, which I don't even know how to use yet...lol! I claim BTC on three different sites now, Freebitco.in, SatsFaucet, and now TrustDice too. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

As for the lottery tickets, you don't need to do anything with them... maybe you'll win a prize someday!

I don't know SatsFaucet. I used to work with TrustDice, but then I checked the withdrawal requirement and immediately stopped using it! Things might have changed, but as I remember, you can only withdraw after either depositing or betting a certain amount. ...

One site that is legit is Cointiply. I successfuly withdrew some BTC from Cointiply earlier this year. The only thing to point out is that they convert your deposit into "coins" at a rate of 10,000 coins per $1, so if you want to withdraw after Bitcoin has gone up in value, you will end up with fewer sats!

Oh, OK, that's very good to know, so having more is useful then!

SatsFaucet is quite good too. Oh, interesting, I wasn't aware of that about TrustDice, and that's definitely a bummer, because I don't plan to do either. I'll have to look into it more closely.

I've heard of Cointiply, but I haven't tried it yet. That's also interested about the coins, because SatsFaucet does that too. My sats are always going up and down on that site.
