When you're trying to get the creative juices flowing, sometimes things just don't come to you like you had hoped and that's okay. It can be hard to think of something to write about when it's been a long day or something else is on your mind. When ideas don't come to you, it may be your body trying to tell you something.

My body was telling me this last night. The kids had gone to bed, so I played a game on my phone. After a while, I migrated to browsing Reddit. Before I knew it, instead of 8pm it was now 9:30pm. I figured I'd look at a few more Reddit posts and then write a post for the night.
Time for A Recharge
My wife looks at me and asks me, "Are you ready for bed?" I look at the time and it's now 10pm. I sighed. No ideas had come to mind for a post. I told her "Yes," but before I knew it another 20 minutes passed. At that point, I realized a post just wasn't happening tonight and I needed to get some sleep.
I slept well, and wouldn't you know it, here comes an idea for a post. Sometimes the best thing we can do for our bodies is to do nothing and allow it to relax and recharge. Ideas come freely. Words flow smoothly.
Creativity Flowing Freely
Had I tried to force a post, I doubt it would've been that great of quality. While not every post is a "masterpiece," I think it's important to put good effort and thought into what we write about here on Hive. It's going to be around for a very long time, so we should want it to be something we can be proud of when looking back at it.
If the ideas aren't coming freely to you, maybe it's your body telling you to take a break. Listen to it. Sometimes, rather than force creativity for the sake of a post, the best thing you can do for your mind and body is... nothing. Relax, free your mind, get some rest and come back to it later. When you do, I think you'll find the words come to you much easier, and you'll be creating instead of "producing." You'll get satisfaction from creating instead of finding it a chore, and that satisfaction will spur you on to other ideas and posts.
