I believe we are not really living in the information age or even the technology age right now. We are living in the age of money, where paper currency and material things have taken over everything in life. People only chase money, far from innovation, action, or even passion. Nowadays, all that matters is how much money you have in your bank account that’s what gets you respect.
When I read history, from the Middle Ages to the 1800s and earlier centuries, there were great scientists and artists like Beethoven and Picasso, and many others who started the technology age we live in today. Edison wasn’t working in his lab chasing money, Tesla worked with passion on technology, and even Newton sought innovation for its own sake.
All those painters and artists from the past won’t appear again in our times because they worked with passion and love. When you work with passion, you create a kind of magical substance that no one can copy or repeat, no matter how hard they try and even if we try to recreate that atmosphere now, we won’t be able to.
This is because we tend to think about selling before we think about creating, about marketing plans before the actual project, about how to get more money and how to invest it and in fact I’m not saying that’s foolish or useless, but when this mindset dominates society and life so it takes away the joy from what we do.
I noticed that when I sit with someone, 90% of the conversation is complaints about lack of money or how to get more, or how celebrities make money easily and effortlessly. This is all the influence of social media and society, where money is the main topic everywhere and how to get it and how to keep it.
The solution is to follow your passion and what you truly want so you can innovate and give your best. Then money will come looking for yo not the other way around. For example, A well-known doctor has people traveling from far cities to consult with him. He never marketed himself, but his knowledge and passion marketed him.
When you reach the point where you seek your passion, yourself, and your value in life, money will come easier. But if money wasn’t your original goal, you will live a happier, simpler, and more peaceful life.
