In this age of constant communication and technology, have you ever tried connecting with yourself through meditation and self-reflection? Sitting quietly with your own thoughts to see what’s really happening around you, understanding your perspective on life, and noticing the influences that shape many people’s actions?
Few of us do this, even though our days are busy and sometimes we have plenty of free time. We often overlook the importance of connecting with ourselves. If we don’t we may feel distant from our own being just like when you lose touch with someone else, they start to feel like a stranger. Imagine feeling like your own self has become strange to you, full of unfamiliar thoughts and reflections.
When I took time to sit with myself and I wondered why more people don’t do this. I realized one big reason is fear and that fear of facing ourselves. We’re afraid to confront our mistakes, wrong beliefs, shortcomings, or failures. So, we avoid spending time alone with our thoughts because we worry we might judge ourselves harshly and in this case you may feel sad but this is like when you know you are sick then you would look for cure.
But sitting with yourself and reflecting can open a door to better self-awareness. It helps reduce stress and anxiety and gives you a clearer vision for the future and lets you understand your actions and thoughts more deeply as like when clouds gone and you see a clear sky.
That’s why I believe the best thing is to spend even just 10 minutes a day with yourself trying to understand and evaluate what’s happening in your life. It brings mental rest and refreshes your mind, and strengthens your connection with your inner self and as I believe it is a need at the end of the day.
While you spend your day working, scrolling through social media, and caught up in endless communication and technology which often steals our peace so we really need this time with ourselves. It’s not a luxury, but a necessity, like eating or drinking. It gives us a chance to ask: Who am I? What am I doing? What will I offer in the future?
Try it you might be surprised by how much you discover inside that you never knew before and you may found bad things need some fix and found good things that you would be proud of.
