Living peacefully nowadays has become very difficult. It feels almost impossible, especially with how much people’s behaviors and values have changed. We live in a strange world where we no longer recognize the people we once knew. It’s hard to understand how to live with them because morals and principles keep shifting sometimes not over years but in days, or even within a single day, a person can completely change.
These changes happen for many reasons, but in our time, they seem to have special and unique causes. We live in the age of technology and openness. You can easily see what someone is doing in West Africa while sitting in Northern Europe. In my view, one of the main reasons people change and lose their personal values is because of self-interest. Social media and the digital world made this very clear. People want to live a different life than the one they actually have. So these changes may not be real or deep inside; maybe it’s just a fake version of themselves they are trying to live.
The best solution during these times is to hold onto your personal principles no matter what. Yes, you might lose some people or miss out on some opportunities, but in the end, you’ll keep your true self. You’ll feel peace inside, and you’ll know that you’re staying positive in a world that’s constantly changing.
The best thing you can do now is to be like a tree so let your roots grow deep. Trust in your values. If they are honest and true, they are your real treasure. The deeper your roots go, the stronger and more unique you’ll become in the eyes of others. This is what makes a truly positive person, someone who can make a difference even when everything else around them is unstable.
