From an early age I loved writing numbers on paper. At 30, in 2007, I was at a critical time financially. Today I was leafing through an old notebook and remembering how it was.In 2006, I borrowed a lot of money from a relative to buy Gazprom shares, $5,000. That was three years' salary in my small town.
I started trading on the stock exchange every day and by January 2007 I had only $250 left. It was a big blow for me. My relative told me to go to work with a minimum salary of $150 and pay off the debt in a few years. But I believed in a miracle. I said that I would earn this money by trading. I fell madly in love with this game, I have been a big player since childhood :)
On January 10th I had 6877 RUR($250) left in my account. I was not broken and started my way. When I love something with all my soul - I am very stubborn. I scalped Rostelecom and Lukoil futures with 10 leverage and by the end of January I had 21224 RUR($800) in my account.
At the end of February I had 51663 RUR($2000) in my account. Sometimes I earned a month's salary in my city in 1 day - $150. It was a nice feeling, lying on the couch making money.
But then something incredible happened. I felt like a trading god :)
On May 31, I had 18 positive trading days in a row. My trading account grew to 474255 RUR($18000). I earned from $300 to $2000 a day. Imagine the thoughts of a young man when the salary in his small town is $150 a month. I was not married then, I could afford everything :) I paid off the debt and started throwing money around; unfortunately, I didn’t have any investment plans at the time.
2007 - 2011 were great years in trading. I moved to a big city with my future wife. The next time such good trading was in 2017 and on other instruments.
What I'm thinking about now, opening this notebook with notes from 18 years ago. That it was a good time then, there is something to remember, travel and new places, a pleasant feeling when we did not carefully read receipts in stores and restaurants.
And I think about how I wanted to buy 1000 bitcoins in 2011 but never did. I invested the money in another venture. Bitcoin seemed like a frivolous asset to me back then. Now I think if I had bought bitcoins at $3, would I have sold them all at $100 or would I have kept them for a little while longer. It's a difficult question.
