Whenever I stay in a city, I always look for a place with a sweeping view. Sometimes, it’s enough to simply open a window and gaze out into the distance for a few minutes to feel a place more deeply than any guidebook ever could.
From above, Niš was exactly that — calm, warm, and quietly boundless. Wrapped in green, it unfolded across the hills in layers of terracotta roofs, while mountains rose in the far distance through a light haze on the horizon.
It seemed ordinary at first glance, yet it lingered in the mind long after.
