Gold Dragon lamp in bottles with faux stained glass technique [Eng-Esp]

Greetings friends lovers of handicrafts! I welcome you once again to my workshop @bricolajedc, this time to show you the step by step for the elaboration of a beautiful lamp on bottle with the faux stained glass technique inspired by the Gold Dragon card. Join me and I'll show you this simple creative process.

Les doy la bienvenida una vez más a mi taller @bricolajedc, en esta oportunidad para mostrarles el paso a paso para la elaboración de una bonita lámpara en botellas con la técnica de falso vitral inspirada en la carta Gold Dragon. Acompáñenme y les enseño este sencillo proceso creativo.

Materials:

• 3 empty amber colored wine bottles.
• Gold colored liquid embroidery
• Paper tape or adhesive tape
• Yellow lights with LED bulbs
• Double-sided tape

Materiales:

• 3 botellas de vino color ámbar vacías
• Bordado líquido de color dorado
• Tirro o cinta adhesiva de papel
• Luces de color amarillo con bombillos led
• Cinta adhesiva doble cara

Everywhere I go I am looking for ways to transform a material that we are not using into something productive. That's what happened with this lamp. I went to visit my sister and she had these bottles and the lights, so I went to the store and got the liquid embroidery and got to work.

Donde quiera que voy estoy buscando formas de transformar un material que no estemos utilizando en algo productivo. Eso fue lo que pasó con esta lámpara. Fui a visitar a mi hermana y ella tenía estas botellas y las luces, así que fui a la tienda y conseguí el bordado líquido y puse manos a la obra.

Elaboration:

• We started by making the golden dragon design. I had an idea to make this design with geometric shapes. I never imagined that it would be so easy to make a dragon with triangles. In less than 20 minutes I had the whole dragon in my design calculating the height of the bottle.

• Comenzamos haciendo el diseño del Dragón dorado. Tenía una idea de hacer este diseño con figuras geométricas. Nunca me imaginé wue sería tan fácil hacer un dragón con triángulos. En menos de 20 minutos ya tenía todo el dragón en mi diseño calculando el alto de la botella.

• We took the liquid embroidery and started tracing the triangles on the amber glass of the bottle.

Since I wasn't in my workshop, I didn't have chalk to transfer my drawing before transferring the liquid embroidery, but it would have been helpful to have guide lines.

• Tomamos el bordado líquido comenzamos a trazar los triángulos sobre el cristal ambar de la botella.

Como no estaba en mi taller no tenía tiza para transferir mi dibujo antes de pasar el bordado líquido, pero hubiese sido de ayuda tener líneas guía.

What I did in order to keep up with the rhythm of the design, was to make an S in all the space destined for the drawing and then I continued with the pattern of triangles in different sizes.

Lo que hice para poder llevar el ritmo del diseño, fue hacer una S en todo el espacio destinado al dibujo y luego seguí con el patrón de triángulos en diferentes tamaños.

• Once we finish bordering our drawing in geometric shapes, we can select some of the shapes and fill them completely.

Let them air dry for 2 hours. Liquid embroidery usually hardens very quickly and leaves that high relief texture.

• Una vez que terminamos de bordear nuestro dibujo en figuras geométricas, podemos seleccionar algunas de las figuras y rellenarlas completamente.

Dejamos secar al aire por 2 horas. El bordado líquido normalmente se endurece miy rapido y queda esa textura de alto relieve.
