Porque ya saben que en las escuelas no se cansan de ponernos a prueba con las manualidades jaja y en esta época que acaba de terminar de carnaval, a las maestras se les ocurrió que las niñas fueran disfrazadas de flores, a lo que yo rápidamente elegí el girasol para reciclar el tutú amarillo que usó mi pequeña con su disfraz de pato 😂 porque para ahorrar sí servimos jaja así que me puse manos a la obra y acá les dejo el paso a paso 👇
Hello, fellow DIY lovers! Today I want to show you and tell you a bit about my most recent creation. You already know that schools never tire of testing us with crafts, haha. Since the Carnival season just ended, the teachers came up with the idea that the girls should dress up as flowers. I quickly chose the sunflower so I could recycle the yellow tutu my little girl used for her duck costume 😂—we’re definitely good at saving money! So, I got to work, and here is the step-by-step guide. 👇
Okey, vamos a iniciar marcando en el cartón una especie de "óvalo" que sea un poco más grande que la cara de mi muchachita y seguidamente le hacemos otro óvalo en el medio por donde se verá la carita de la modelo.
Okay, let's start by marking an "oval" shape on the cardboard that is a bit larger than my daughter's face; then, we’ll make another oval in the middle where the model's face will show through.
Luego marcamos en la tela y la cartulina la forma; la tela irá por la parte trasera y la cartulina en la delantera.
Then we mark the shape on the fabric and the cardstock; the fabric will go on the back and the cardstock on the front.
El siguiente paso es sacar en una hoja blanca lo que sería el pétalo para luego marcarlos en la cartulina y el foami dorado. Una vez recortados, les cortaremos un pedacito en el centro y, con ayuda del silicón, lo pegamos colocando una punta encima de la otra.
The next step is to draw the petal shape on a white sheet of paper to use as a template, then trace them onto the cardstock and the gold foam. Once they are cut out, we’ll make a small slit in the center and, using silicone, glue it by placing one edge over the other.
Luego vamos a pegar cada pétalo por la orilla del óvalo del centro, uno de cartulina y uno de foami hasta que se cubra todo.
Next, we are going to glue each petal along the edge of the center oval—alternating one cardstock and one foam petal—until everything is covered.
Luego con el foami marrón cortaremos una hilera con puntas que sería el centro de nuestro girasol, cortamos dos tiras y las pegamos (¡el paso más difícil! 😣).
Then, using the brown foam, we’ll cut a spiked row to serve as the center of our sunflower. We cut two strips and glue them down (the hardest step! 😣).
Luego pegamos los pétalos de afuera; en medio de cada dos colocamos otro, y así hasta terminarlo todo.
Then we glue the outer petals; we place one in the middle of every two petals until the whole thing is finished.
Luego vamos a cortar las puntas de cada pétalo en foami dorado y se las pegamos en los pétalos de afuera.
After that, we’re going to cut out tips for each petal from the gold foam and glue them onto the outer petals.
Como último paso, le pegamos la cinta en el medio en la parte trasera y así se ve 🥰.
As a final step, we glue the ribbon (elastic) to the middle of the back, and this is how it looks! 🥰
