Walls, doors, windows and surfaces, are among my favorite photographic “fetishes” when it comes to making walks in the streets and especially when I want to take advantage of the chromaticism always present in these elements to express myself through my photos... So, it's not surprising that I always have a good amount of photos of these things in my archives...

P*aredes, puertas, ventanas y superficies, figuran entre mis "fetiches# fotográficos favoritos cuando se trata de hacer recorridos en las calles y en especial cuando quiero aprovechar el cromatismo siempre presente en estos elementos para expresarme a través de mis fotos... Entonces, no es de extrañar que siempre tenga una buena cantidad de fotos de estas cosas en mis archivos...

The photos in this publication correspond to my archives of the recently finished month of May... They are photos of different character, some are intimate and close and others are made from a greater distance. I also selected photos with recurring lines and geometric shapes. In others there is an accent on abstraction and some even have a curious touch (like the one with a millipede on a yellow wall for example)... The streets, as you know, allow a whole universe of possibilities and you have to take advantage of that when you like to take pictures...

La fotos en esta publicación corresponden a mis archivos del recién finalizado mes de Mayo... Son fotos de carácter distinto, algunas son intimas y cercanas y otras son hecha de una distancia mayor. También seleccioné fotos con líneas y formas geométricas recurrentes. En otras hay un acento puesto en la abstracción e incluso algunas tiene un toque curioso (como la que tiene un milpiés sobre una pared amarilla por ejemplo)... Las calles, como ustedes saben, permiten un universo completo de posibilidades y eso hay que aprovecharlo cuando uno gusta de hacer fotos...

It is curious, but I look at these photos once edited and I conclude that I instinctively take advantage of the textures and the chromatic chaos that the passage of time generates on these surfaces. Here it is difficult for most people to keep their facades painted and clean, that could be considered for many an “unjustifiable expense” in times of economic crisis such as those currently experienced in my country. In addition, mine is a town with a very high level of humidity, especially in the middle of the rainy season as we are now. All this contributes then to the fact that photographing a window, a door or a wall, becomes something more “pictorial” than it could be in other places...

Es curioso, pero observo estas fotos una vez editadas y concluyo que aprovecho de manera instintiva las texturas y el caos cromático que el paso del tiempo genera en estas superficies. Aquí es difícil para la mayoría de las personas el mantener sus fachadas pintadas y limpias, eso podría considerarse para muchos un "gasto no justificable" en tempos de crisis económica como los que se viven actualmente en mi país. Además, es mío es un pueblo con un nivel de humedad muy alto, especialmente en plena temporada de lluvias como estamos ahora. Todo esto contribuye entonces a que fotografiar una ventana, una puerta o una pared, se convierta en algo más "pictórico" de lo que podría ser en otros lugares...

_{ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7}
