Greetings Summoners
In this post I want to share another Splinterlands Battle that I think it is very interesting and we can learn a lot from it. Sometime during our rain of battles, we see an opponent's line up that gives us a thought of... "Of Damn, I Am Losing This Battle"... and End up winning it.
There are various conditions why the better team is losing, but sometime I find a unique one... It is a condition that I wish I am on my opponent side because it has better units or units that I could not have at all.
So today we will see one of those battle that actually I envy my opponent there...
The Battle
Ok here is the battle I pick. BECCACAPITAL is my regular opponents on Rank Battle. Somehow I keep facing him over and over, and he has a great line up with many black foil cards. It looks like despite his outstanding lineup, he stucks on Gold League. Well he has some problem there, everyone of course have problems, and I am not trying to look smart by telling what it is because I do have my own problems lol.
In general, I envy my opponents due to his outstanding cards selection...

Seriously, as a gold foil cards player, I envy people who have black foil cards. His cards are all at max level, only his legendary cards which are not all full max level.
But there is a drawback in his line up. Which is he relies on a certain card only, but still a max level line up is too much in general. Overall I have more loses against him.
First let see how max level line up puts him on different league than me

let see how their team and my team in comparison mode.
- They have 12 melee damage, 5 magic damage and 2 range damage. It is a combined 19 damage per round. My team has 3 melee damage and 13 magic damage, a combined of 18 damage per round. Head to head wise, we are equal.
- Both of us have a tank heal ability, however they have Commander Slade which is good tank. So in defense, they are slightly better.
- They have 6 units, I have 5 units. So a unit lose should damage more on me than on him.
In general I prefer to be on his team than my team. However, my team turns to be the better one later. Let see it in progress

In round 2, everything gets on even. We can blame it on Taye Loreswift. She is a good 3 mana cards but very unreliable in normal condition. This battle is one of the proof, she dies instantly.

Let me remind you something. His Abyssal Elemental has a blast ability. Numbers wise, Abyssal Elemental is a non growing card, so different level doesn't give any significant gap. Except at max level, he has a blast ability.
My team is still winning relying on our speed superiority. Other than that, we are nothing better.

Round 4 is the last. My team wins this battle despite everything looks bad on our side.
I like sharing this kind of battle that I win over people who have a better line up... people who are having cards I can not acquire, and cards above my cards level. It is not to show how good I am on Splinterlands, nor to show how bad they are in building up deck. It is about equality. Even if you have many limitation in your line up, you still can snatch, still, or trick people to get some wins!
and sometime you will find even a great player make a silly mistake, by misreading the modifiers or misplaced their cards.
In this battle, how do my team suddenly winning? It is all thanks to two things, Taye Loreswift and they misplaced the Mar Toren Trader which should be placed in the rearest position. But in my personal opinion, he pushes his luck too much on his black foil summoner, if he changes that, I might lose badly... or maybe that's his only summoner?
So in every battle, cherish your line up... build them progressively, and believe in them. Because they are capable, by luck or by wits, to beat a stronger line up!
