Hello Everyone
Today I am sharing you all my experience in playing Splinterlands. But this is not about the battle, strategy, meta or anything related to that. It is about the players, or what we call as Splinterlands Summoners. Yes it is about me and I hope some of you can relate or use my experience here as reference to make yourself as a better player.
I came to Splinterlands in late 2021, and that was the first door I passed into HIVE blockchain too. It was Splinterlands that brought me to HIVE.
The first thing I did was to find a Splinterlands community, and because I came from Indonesia, I sought and found Indonesia Splinterlands community. There I met some good guys, which almost all of them have retired from this game. Nowadays you will only see @rqr4 @arveno @jonacau and I who are coming from that community and still playing Splinterlands.
In late 2022 Splinterlands started to fire out massive staffs, well we call it rationalization in order to cut massive overhead in the company. Yet that action led to the demise of Indonesian Community because one of the founder and the lead person was working there. So no more sponsorship nor support from big guys. Soon after Indonesian players base started to reduce at high speed, and yet we have less than 10 players nowdaways.
However before that event, actually I did something that was weird and people questioned my action. Some disliked my action that time, but it was something that became the foundation of my splinterlands journey right now. I left the Indonesian based Splinterlands Guild, that time I wanted to get some experience playing with non Indonesian people, playing with a more international community, multiple nations people.
And my journey brought me into a new guild, that time the guild name was TeasMe. Today that guild is a part of old history and only two players who still remain here, playing Splinterlands.
In that guild, I learnt two things. Those are nothing news, we already know , everyone know, but maybe not everyone realizes it sooner. Those two are:
- We are here for fun. Stupid as it sounds, but we were talking about having fun there. Most people that time talking about how to get profit from this game, talking about how they lost their investment thanks to Chaos Legion, and many other stuff. We who were on that guild already knew that, but we sticked with seeking fun from the game.
- There is price for everything. You want to be strong, spend some money please. You don't win because your deck weak, don't bitch up because you deserve it due to lack of purchase. We did not encourage people to purchase a lot of packs nor cards, but we encourage ourselves to find where we could fit in this game.
And being there was the beginning of my journey playing Splinterlands as Gold Foil fray players in Brawl. I realize that I had many gold foil cards, I liked buying them but I did not have many fund. So rather than aimed everything, I set my deck up to silver league level cap, and started playing with gold foil only.
2 years later, which is today, I am a gold foil fray players. I have played for various guild after TeasMe was disbanded, and I play for TnA guild. I play for Bulldog guild before. Somehow I end up playing for streamers' guild lol, maybe because I get attracted to their optimizism towards this game.
so that's what I can say as my core message in this post...
HAVE YOURSELF IN THE RIGHT GUILD
Ok I think it is too plain if I do not attach or employ anything other than my story here. So let me add some part here, about the Gladius cases opening. Gladiator cards are part of the brawl, they are the most important cards for the guild.

I have 35 Gladius cases right now and I have 175 blood stones and 175 power stones. So let see what I will get from those cases.
This is the hash transaction https://splinterlands.com/mana-well?t=bbfcd330d07e1a0ca9abfb7fb80ccd13972d6fc0&ref=dewabrata , I will only share the important things below here.

I am a gold foil player so my focus will be on the gold foil cards only. I got 3 gold foil from the first 10 cards, 1 Bayne and 2 Alva. None of them are my favorite, so the first 10 although they are good, are not useful to me.

The next 10 cards were very good. I got Captain Katie, Isgalt Vorst and Marisol Contuma. Those three are my favorite and I really use them a lot.

The last 14 cards are eye sore. I get some great cards here such as 4 Quora Towershead, 2 Sola Ranjel and 2 Tatiana Blade but all are in regular foils. I have to rule them out here. My gold foils are Ajax Lightfood, Betrol Gobson and two copies of Hugo Strongswords.
Overall I get 10 Gold Foil cards from 175 cards. That's a good rate although it is sad to see many great Epics and Legendaries here but the gold foils do not land on them.
Don't worry, there are always be next season when I can open more Gladius cases. Ok That's my post today, Have fun in Splinterlands Battles!!!
