chess themed Thambo Diamalo by Grok
Greetings to all Splinterlands players and hive gaming community! I borrowed another card from our library. This time it's a gold foil legendary card named Thambo Diamalo. Up above, I asked Grok to make a chess themed Thambo and it came up with the image. Checkered skin like a chess board and a golden King piece pendant.
I'm an advocate of the benefits of joining a guild. It has elevated my game to Gold league. The buildings provide certain benefits like shop discounts and reward multipliers. The most obvious one is the weekly brawl where we earn SPS and gladiator cards through merits. I also received help from my guild mates with card donations that increased my deck.
In return, I do my part as a guild member by winning in brawls and occasionally contributing to our buildings. The newest benefit the guild offers is the library. Players with excess cards can deposit them in the library and it can be borrowed by all members in the guild. I posted about the card that I borrowed and they took me up to Gold III in modern format. The latest card I borrowed was Thambo Diamalo.
It's a zero mana card with one attack. It has a charge skill that can strike from any position. The attack is low but it helps soften the opponent's units that help my big guns to defeat them. I'll show some games with Thambo.
Game 1
An all melee game with relatively low mana. Here I used Wayfinder and Giraffe in front. They're good when the mana is low otherwise I'll use Doomshield Warden. The main attacker is Grove Doomblade. She does five attack and has a sneak skill. I included a foundation card with the same skill to help attack the opponent's rear. Completing the team were Thambo and Ironwing Juggernaut. Both cards have the Charge skill. I faced an opponent with Thorns skill. It's a nightmare against melee units that gives the opponent an advantage. I have an edge of my own with my advantage in numbers. Having a zero mana card gave me a complete six man team versus the opponent who only had four cards. It was a nice win for my team.
Game 2
Game two has higher mana so I had Doomshield Warden and the Shark in in front. Thambo and his buddy Ironwing Juggernaut is still in the team. Then I had Portly Cannoneer reinforce my melee units. It has an Inspire skill that gives +1 attack to melee cards. Last is Djinn Oceanus archer. He is far from his best when he was a magic card. Now he is an archer card with two attack. Like the first game, the zero mana Thambo gave me an extra card and completed my six man team. The opponent only had five cards that gave me an advantage in numbers.
There are more games where Thambo helped my team to getting the win.
The point is, he is now a regular member that help me win games. I couldn't have gotten him if not for the library. A gold foil legendary card is expensive to buy so I'm grateful for the guild in lending this card.

If you are a player with few cards in your deck. Join a guild that can assist you to grow in Splinterlands. You can join brawls to earn SPS, enjoy reward multipliers and shop discounts. Since joining a guild, I'm adding my cards by buying from the shop and the market. This makes the game more fun and add progression. If you're not a guild member yet, now is the time to find one.
