Regular Splinterlands players know how challenging it is to survive and win in Gold League (Gold I). Especially when you open the game in the morning and face a tough opponent at the beginning of the day. But if the day starts with such a great win and some valuable rewards, then the whole day goes well. Today I was playing in Fortune Mode, and as you know, there are a lot of chances to get card rewards here.

In today's article, I will share my best battle of the day, where I used Fire Splinter and won some great cards by defeating my opponent.
Battle Background and Ruleset

Today's battle was for 36 Mana. My opponent in this Gold League match was SANITY-CHECK. However, the key behind this victory was understanding the ruleset or rules properly. There were two special rules for today's match:
Lost Magic: No magic attack monsters can be used in this battle. This means the fight will be between Melee and Ranged cards only.
Return Fire: This was the trickiest rule. If someone uses a Ranged attack monster, they will take reverse damage after attacking (50% damage will be reflected).
My Masterplan and Card Selection

Since magic is off and using range is risky (due to Return Fire), I decided to go for a speed storm. I chose Fire Splinter and based my lineup on high speed and strong Melee attacks.
My lineup was as follows:
Summoner: BARTHALAMAS (Fire)

I used this summoner because of its +1 Speed ability. Since there is no magic, it will be a physical combat. And in a physical fight or Melee fight, the one who can hit first and has less chance of missing wins. Bartholomew has given my entire team that extra speed.
Tank: FRANKARSGARD

I chose Frankarsgard for the frontline. Its main strength is its Enrage ability. Whenever its life starts to decrease, its Melee power and speed increase by 50%. That is, the more the opponent hits me, the more violent this card of mine will become. It is a perfect choice for the Gold League.
Second position: CHAOS FURYBRINGER

I put it in second position for its Reach ability. Normal Melee cards cannot attack from the second position, but Chaos Furybringer can. As a result, along with my first card, it also starts to damage the opponent's tank.
Support Attack: ASH ARCHER

Even though there were Return Fire rules, I still took a ranged card with some risk. Ash Archer was mainly taken to maintain balance, so that he could deal some damage from a distance. Although he himself was taking damage, his output helped turn the tide of the match.
Sneak Attack: EMBER ROAST SOW

This card is one of the most important parts of my strategy. With its Sneak ability, it targets the weak cards in the opponent's back row. It was very important to destroy the opponent's backline in addition to fighting the front tank.
Main Damage Dealer: A'LAN MUSKETEER

This card was my team's secret weapon. Its Double Strike ability makes it as powerful as two cards alone. He attacks twice per round, which is enough to break down the opponent's defense.
Exciting Moments of the Battle

My Barthalamas' speed buff kicks in as soon as the match starts. My cards start attacking before the opponent.
Early: The opponent tries to weaken my tank Frankarsgard by hitting him, but it works to my advantage. After Enrage is activated, Frankarsgard starts dealing massive damage on his own.
Mid-round: My Ember Roast Sow annoys the opponent's back row healers or support cards. On the other hand, A'lan Musketeer's double strike instantly destroys the opponent's armor.
Late: Although my Ash Archer was slightly damaged by Return Fire, the opponent was unable to stand up to the power of my Melee cards. In the end, speed and brute force prevail.
Reward Collection: Shocking results!

The real surprise was waiting after winning the match. By opening the Daily Focus or Chest, I got a total of 5 cards. Two of them were amazing:

Lady Amara (Epic Card):
It was really a matter of luck to get this epic card from Life Splinter. Its mana cost is 6, and it can provide good support against magic attacks. It is a great win from both market value and gameplay aspects.
Aurelia (Rare Card):

This is an Earth unit card. Its healing or support ability will go well with Earth decks in the future. I also got some common cards that will help me upgrade my deck.
Today's battle proved once again that in Splinterlands, it is not only about having expensive cards, but also if you use the right Summoner and Abilities (such as Enrage, Reach, Double Strike) according to the Ruleset, it is possible to defeat a big opponent with a level 1 or less powerful card.
I started the day with the joy of today's victory and getting an epic card. I hope you are also playing Fortune Mode and getting good rewards. See you in the next battle!
