The name 'Splinterlands' is very familiar to those who regularly roam the world of blockchain gaming or NFT games. I myself am a regular player of this game. Daily battles, arranging new strategies, and matching card combinations - all of them make for a great time. But today was a little more special for me. Why? Because, from today's card opening, I got some cards that were much better than I expected. I am sharing that entire experience with you today.

Those who play ranked matches in Splinterlands know that with each win, we are given some rewards. In the previous system, getting reward cards depended entirely on luck, but now, through 'Glint' tokens, we can choose the draw or card pack of our choice. I play battles regularly every day and save the Glint tokens I get from there. When 4,495.4 Glints were credited to my account today, I thought—let’s do something with the accumulated tokens.

I went straight to ‘Gwen’s Glint Shop’. There were many options there—Common Draw, Rare Draw, Epic, or Legendary. However, ‘Rare Draw’ caught my eye. One card costs 1,500 Glints. I decided to spend 3,000 Glints to draw two cards. I was a little hesitant while drawing, because luck doesn’t always bring good cards. However, to take advantage of the opportunity, I used ‘Alchemy Potion’ to double the chances of getting a Gold Foil card. Although I didn’t get the Gold Foil, I am happy with what I got.

After confirming the transaction, when it was time to reveal the two cards, my chest was a little heavy. Two blue rare cards appeared on the screen. The two cards are 'Mindless Thrall' and 'Torrent Sniper'. Below are the detailed abilities of the two cards and my personal opinion:

- Mindless Thrall (Undead - Death Element):
The first card was 'Mindless Thrall' of the Death Element. It is an 8-man card, which is quite powerful. Its most interesting aspect is its 'Phase' ability. Usually, magic attacks do not miss in Splinterlands, but due to this ability, magic attacks also have the possibility of missing like physical attacks. Its 2 magic attacks, 4 speed and 5 health make it quite effective on the battlefield. Especially when the opponent brings magic users, this card will act as a shield.

- Torrent Sniper (Avian - Water Element):
The second card is 'Torrent Sniper' of the Water Element. It is a 7-man card. As its name suggests, it has the 'Snipe' ability. The specialty of the snipe ability is that it targets non-melee units in the back instead of directly attacking the first position card. The card has 8 health and 2 armour, which makes it quite durable. Even though it has 1 magic attack and 2 speed, its snipe ability will help you quickly finish off the weak cards in the opponent's back row.

To be honest, I thought I would get a normal card. But I believe that these two cards will strengthen my deck. Especially high-mana cards like 'Mindless Thrall' play a big role in big battles.

I shared the entire process with you through screenshots. From buying cards from the Glint Shop to confirming the transaction via Hive Keychain—everything was quite exciting. I like this new reward system in Splinterlands because it allows players to buy cards of their choice with their hard-earned tokens.

Today's card opening added a new dimension to my Splinterlands journey. For those who are new to the game or just collecting Glint, I can tell you that if you choose the right draw at the right time, you too can get some great cards like me. I look forward to even better things in the next season. How was your card opening experience? Don't forget to let me know in the comments!
