Unlike the normal card battle games, Splinterlands has the ruleset modifier, which makes the match become even more interesting. The ruleset will give some effect which can be a decisive aspect on the match, because it can empower some monsters or make them weaker. And not just 1, we can even get up to 3 ruleset in a single match ! This mean we need to think very carefully to make the most of all ruleset, because some ruleset can make a syncronize effect with another ruleset.

Holy Protection Ruleset | Description and Suggestion

I will breakdown all 3 ruleset on this post, and holy protection would be the first ! This ruleset is giving all monsters the divine shield that can block all kind of damage ! You can see your monster become invincibe in a single attack from the enemy, no matter how much damage they had (go with 100 attack and it would still give no effect !).

Suggestion

#1. Fill All the Slot if it Possible
This would make the enemy has to land more damage because each monsters will waste 1 attack with the divine shield ! You can put as much monsters as possible to defend your main hitter, and more monsters mean more turn to attack !

#2. Focus on Single Target
Since there is the divine shield, a seperate attack would ended up with nobody is eliminated, because you will just break the divine shield. On another side, a focus attack would have higher chance to eliminate enemies, because the first attacker would remove the divine shield and the rest can try to eliminate that monster. On a tight battle, a single loss different could mean much for deciding the winner on the battlefield.

#3. Blast Will Works Well
Blast could trigger the divine shield, and this is the reason why blast is a great ability you can have on this ruleset. Break the divine shield so when the time for main hitter is coming, they can safely land the damage without worry getting blocked by the divine shield !

Noxious Fumes Ruleset | Description and Suggestion

Now let's move to Noxious Fumes ruleset. Who doesn't know bout this ruleset, which makes all monster getting the poisoned effect ! The game could chance into the survival game when this ruleset is coming in, because it can eliminate all monsters automatically on each round passed with the 2 true damage that can't be blocked.

Suggestion

#1. Get Immunity, Cleanse, or Rear Cleanse
This would make your monsters free from the poison effect !

#2. Get survival ability.
Since all monsters without immunity or cleansed are keep receiving 2 damage, it's important to have some survival ability to stay longer on the battlefield and win the match by becoming the last standing while the poison is hurt the enemy. I suggest you to get scavenger ability to bulk more health point, healing or corrupted healing (would be better the corrupted because 1 monster can heal up to 5 monster !), regen, triage, and life leech ability. All these ability could help your team stay longer on the battlefield. A combination of them could become even better, as example monsters with the scavenger and regen can get higher regen rate each turn !

#3. Get the anti healing
This is the anti strategy from the number 2. Just in case your enemy think the same way, the anti healing such as affliction and the cripple would help to stop them from keep getting regenerating.

#4. Use the poison to activate some ability.
The ability such enrage need the monster to have hurted to active, and the poison would do it for them ! This is a great chance to activate the enrage without being targeted by the enemy. If you are playing on wild format, then the martyr would easily triggered as well on thie ruleset. Turn the challenge into the advantage !

Super Sneak Ruleset | Description and Suggestion

Now here is the last ruleset we will talk about. This ruleset is really favouring the melee monsters because they can have the freedom to attack from any position on this ruleset, but the target would always be the last position since all melee will have the sneak ability.

Suggestion

#1. Prepare for anti melee at the back
Since sneak melee monster would likely to come, getting a monster with shield, thorn, or high speed with evade will be great strategy to stop the sneaking enemies ! Try getting demoralize as well to reduce all melee damage from the enemy.

#2. Surprise your enemy with magic damage !
This is my favourite strategy, to surprise my enemy because once they anticipate for the sneaking melee damage, they defense for magic are often lowered, and magician would do it very well to eliminate the enemy !

#3. Get a balance lane up, anticipate for magic on the front as well !
This is my suggestion when put the lane up, don't just ancitipate the melee because enemy might surprise you with magic, so it's better to have some monster with silence, void, or void armor to put on the front.

Here is the formation of both team. We got 27 mana cap, and my enemy put just 4 monster there. He got the powerfull summoner that limit his team by 1 slot. He also got the main hitter with scavenger ability and the immunity monster as well. Meanwhile on my side, I go with 6 monsters, and some antitipation for the melee at the back while anticipating the magic on the front with magic reflect. I also have 2 corrupted healing to help the team survive !

How the Battle Goes

At ambush round, nobody is elimianted, but the halving work well to reduce the enemy tanker damage !

At 1st round, my team damage that I try to focused on 1st position is manage to eliminate my enemy tanker ! On the other side, my team lost the backline monster as well.

At 2nd round, 2 monster are getting eliminated on my side, while my enemy stay strong with no one is eliminated. It's 3-3 situation at the end of 2nd round !

At 3rd round, both team lose 1 monster, now it's 2-2 battle ! Thanks for the halving to reduce lot damages from my enemy main hitter !

My team finally win after my enemy lost all his monsters !

We need to think carefully about the ruleset and try to adapt with it because ruleset often give big impact on the match. There are several tips for each ruleset, and combination of them would make your team become stronger by taking the ruleset as your advantage !
