Querida comunidad, espero que se encuentren muy bien y estén disfrutando de esta iniciativa tanto como yo 😊.
Es que si algo me gusta, son los videos musicales, es decir, esa música que no solo escuchamos, sino que le damos un rostro y algo que nos hace recordar visualmente, cada vez que la melodía suena.
Cuando hice mi primera publicación, me di cuenta de que me quedaron MUCHOS TEMAS por fuera, por ende y agradeciendo la extensión del concurso, les vengo a dar una segunda parte que está tan buena como la primera 😉.
Noté, que me gustan más las propuestas en inglés, porque aunque no las entienda, su energía, hacen que yo les ponga un poco de imaginación a la historia.
En este sentido, un video que llenó las plataformas de mi tiempo y del cual todo el mundo habló es "You´re beautiful" de James Blunt. El cantante (quien es un colega sociólogo), en una publicación reciente admite que jamás pensó que un video/canción que hablaba sobre el suicidio le hiciera tan famoso 🙃. Yo no entendía el mensaje, pero quedaba asombrada como de una sola toma, donde no había más escenario ni trasfondo, podía mantenerme entretenida por tanto tiempo:

If there's one thing I love, it's music videos, that is, music that we not only listen to, but also give a face to and something that we remember visually every time the melody plays.
When I made my first post, I realized that I left out a LOT of songs, so I'm grateful for the extension of the contest and am bringing you a second part that's just as good as the first 😉.
I noticed that I like the English songs better because, even though I don't understand them, their energy makes me use my imagination to come up with a story.
In this sense, a video that filled the platforms of my time and that everyone talked about is “You're Beautiful” by James Blunt. The singer (who is a fellow sociologist) admitted in a recent publication that he never thought a video/song about suicide would make him so famous. I didn't understand the message, but I was amazed at how a single shot, with no stage or background, could keep me entertained for so long:

Wow! That song gives anyone goose bumps when they learn its meaning, but it's not the only one I have. The video below leaves NOTHING TO THE IMAGINATION. Rather, it was shocking to see how these women became true cabaret artists, which even made us see them in a different light and not pigeonhole them into their usual rhythms. As always, Christina stood out among them all, and I'm not going to argue with anyone about that 😊. Here's Lady Marmalade:

Este video en particular trata de cómo podemos admirar a alguien, pero eso no debe ser motivo para obsesionarnos o perder nuestra vida, por querer parecer lo que no somos. And to conclude these videos in English that struck me with their depth, and then watching the interviews about why they were made, I can't leave out the video collaboration between Dido and Eminem. This particular video is about how we can admire someone, but that shouldn't be a reason to obsess or lose our lives by trying to be something we're not. Y ya saliendo de estas tragedias, entonces vamos en algo que va con nuestro idioma y tropicalidad. Porque si hay videos tristes, pero me gusta enfocarme en videos buena vibra y resaltando ese sabor caribeño que nos identifica.
Un video que dejé por fuera, pero en esta oportunidad debe ir sí o sí, es EL LIMBO con Daddy Yankee, ya que nos invita a bailar, disfrutar y recordar un juego que es protagonista en nuestras fiestas cuando de baile y coreografía se trata.

And now that we've left these tragedies behind, let's move on to something that goes with our language and tropicality. Because there are sad videos, but I like to focus on videos with good vibes and highlight that Caribbean flavor that identifies us.
One video I left out, but this time it has to be included, is EL LIMBO with Daddy Yankee, as it invites us to dance, enjoy ourselves, and remember a game that is a staple at our parties when it comes to dancing and choreography.

Y otro video que es más actual y con este me despido, es un video venezolano. No solo lo destaco por lo hecho en nuestro país, con nuestros artistas, sino que habla y muestra precisamente de un año o década nostálgica para muchos ¿Qué hacías en el 2000? ¿Dónde estabas en el 2000? ¿Qué recuerdas de esa década? Han pasado 25 años y lo seguimos rememorando como ayer, nos negamos a que muera ese recuerdo e incluso añoramos que vuelva una época así.
Lo de resaltar de este video, es que muchos de los que nos gustan, estábamos en la misma posición de ellos: en el liceo, pendientes del receso, alguna pasión como el rock o skate, o tratando de parecer diferentes ante el mundo; y quiero que quede claro, aunque se dirige solo a Caracas, muchos de nosotros hacíamos exactamente lo mismo, como una secta 😉.

And another video that is more current, and with this I bid you farewell, is a Venezuelan video. I highlight it not only because it was made in our country, with our artists, but also because it speaks of and shows a year or decade that is nostalgic for many. What were you doing in 2000? Where were you in 2000? What do you remember about that decade? Twenty-five years have passed, and we still remember it as if it were yesterday. We refuse to let that memory die, and we even long for a time like that to return.
What stands out about this video is that many of us who like it were in the same position as them: in high school, looking forward to recess, pursuing a passion such as rock music or skateboarding, or trying to appear different to the world. And I want to make it clear that, although it only refers to Caracas, many of us were doing exactly the same thing, like a cult.
