I normally don't collect a lot of coin series. One reason is they're usually grossly overpriced. On the off chance they're not, the series typically goes on far too long and the designs toward the end feel like they're grasping at straws. It's sad when you find a series that isn't overdone and is reasonably priced, and it only lasts a few years. A great example of this is the Valkyries series of coins from the Germania Mint.

They started the series in 2022 with Hildegard.
This piece instantly caught my eye and I was hooked. I think they were priced around $40-50 for this brilliant uncirculated version.
In 2023 they introduced Ostara.
The piece wasn't quite as good as the first in my opinion, but it's still a solid design.
Then in 2024 they released Solveig.
A lady with an axe and a bear in the background? What's not to like?
In 2025 they released Arnhild.
A classy lady outfitted with a bow, and the coin also depicted the two ravens that serve as Odin's eyes, Huginn and Muninn.
And that's where they concluded the series. Four coins that were all moderately priced, had great designs and were well-executed. I was hoping there'd be another one out, but they've already moved on to another series. Maybe there's hope they'll bring another series like it out. Only time will tell. All I know is this series was ended far too soon.
