Good day to you all, and thank you for stopping by to check out this new series I have started.
I present to you, Merlin the Chubbinator, Collector of Coins.
My son has been on many a trip to the Antique stores with me, helping me look for poins (coins) as he calls them. He also loves referring to them all as TREASURE, which he likes to shout at the top of his lungs.
I love this time that I get to spend with him, and adore that he is showing an interest in collecting silver with me.
Admittedly, he is only 2 years old, but he is so into it that on our last trip, he picked up some of his first bits.
Pretty much worthless on their own, but they do look pretty cool.
I'll be documenting his journey for him as he's not really old enough to write just yet 😁

The obverse of the coin: Crown with Elizabeth R and the date beneath
The reverse of the coin: A shield with the Royal Arms of the House of Windsor under the Imperial State Crown, top Left of the emblem is the Tower Mint in London, in the top right is a Tudor Rose, at the bottom is a ribbon with the lettering ROYAL MINT.

These plaques are part of the Royal Mint's Coin Proof Sets that they release. There is a Copper and a Silver .925 plaque in each set alongside the proof coins.
Merlin found these 2 in a small tub, 3 coins for £1.00. Yes, that is an extortionate price for what these are, but at the same time, they have brought him so much joy that it was totally worth the money.
