It's kind of hard to imagine there wasn't a band from that genre that didn't start in Los Angeles. Okay Bon Jovi being the huge exception!

Hair metal was huge on the Sunset Strip back in the day, but Twisted Sister pulled it off!
Man I know the twisted sister story well. Yonkers NY! B4 my time bit a cousin (my moms cousin who’s prime was the eighties knew the guys, he was way younger then my mom). Told me all about how even selling out huge coins no label would touch them! Finally they got there record deal but they should have been big 6 years b4! I heard about a documentary on this era of events, I might just go looking for it. Hey I know ur a busy man with the family and all, but there’s an old episode of a podcast I think you’d love. If u ever have a 2 hour drive or for whatever reason can listen, I will track it down for ya. Let me know
