We do many things for our home manually. One of the most recent ones was a headboard made with hexagons. We used an ultra-thin MDF wood base to ensure the geometric shape would not be affected. We also made a 1cm foam layer to make the padding soft. The covering was done with a fabric called courino, in two colors: blue and white.
This is the photo of the part that remained of the composition, which had deliberately empty spaces. In addition, some niches were well placed, we added them to serve as support for other ornaments. Altogether it had a good shape! We liked it for a while, but now the day has come to take it apart.
Unfortunately, the wall where we assembled the headboard is opposite the bathroom, in the wet area, and somehow we noticed moisture. The allergy revealed the appearance of an unwanted intruder: mold. We immediately took our work apart and moved on to the cleaning phase! Allergy is something we have learned to live with, and it receives priority treatment. Otherwise, suffer the consequences!
For me, what remains is to apply repairs to the wall. Double-sided tape had been used for the assembly, and when removing the hexagons, the wall was damaged. We need to apply putty, sand, and paint again. This falls under the fatherly duties: I am already organizing myself to do it as soon as possible.
Meanwhile... the world goes on, and no one will notice that we lost a day of manual work to go back in time and undo such an intense job that we were so satisfied with!

Fazemos muitas coisas para nossa casa de forma manual. Uma das mais recentes foi uma cabeceira de cama feita com hexágonos. Usamos uma base em madeira MDF ultrafina para ter segurança que a forma geométrica não seria afetada. Também fizemos uma camada de espuma de 1cm para deixar o estofamento macio. A cobertura foi feita com um tecido chamado courino, em duas cores: azul e branca.
Esta é a foto da parte que restou da composição, que tinha espaços vagos propositalmente. Além disso, alguns nichos estavam bem posicionados, colocamos para servir de apoio para outros enfeites. Tudo junto tinha uma boa forma! Gostamos por um tempo, mas agora chegou o dia de desmanchar.
Infelizmente a parede onde montamos a cabeceira é oposta ao banheiro, na região molhada, e de alguma forma percebemos umidade. A alergia denunciou o aparecimento de um intruso indesejado: mofo. Imediatamente desmanchamos nosso trabalho e passamos para a seção de limpeza! A alergia é algo com o que aprendemos a conviver e ela tem atendimento preferencial. Ou, sofra as consequências!
Para mim resta aplicar os reparos na parede. Havia utilizar fita dupla face para fixação, e ao remover os hexágonos a parede foi danificada. Precisamos utilizar massa, lixar e pintar novamente. Isso fica para a função da paternidade: já estou me organizando para realizar o quanto antes.
Enquanto isso.. o mundo segue, e ninguém vai notar que perdemos um dia de trabalho manual para voltar no tempo e desfazer um trabalho tão intenso e com o qual estávamos tão satisfeitos!
