A lot of us are just so quick to make judgments. It was actually my own weakness and I'm not going to lie and say I've overcome it completely but I'm very well aware of it right now. Just on the basis of a look, a hearsay and a tone of voice, you will have come to a conclusion about the character of that person without even taking the time to think about who that person is and what they went through that you're not aware of.
I was at the bus stop the past February in Accra. I noticed that there were two people arguing about the fare. I immediately became annoyed at both of them because it seemed much more reasonable that the passengers would be willing to pay twice the amount for a fare than that the second person would be trying not to pay for the first person's fare based on the fact that there was no agitation on the part of the second person. As a matter of fact, there was no anger or negative energy coming from either of them. The person left and I was now sitting beside the person who had been arguing. He calmly said without any drama at all on the issue at hand that he had just come from the hospital that morning and did not have enough money to pay for both transport and medicine.
Even after that, I had already passed my judgment on the passenger.
Judgment will cost you and others, something of value, you will give an opinion and in return for the opinion someone else will pay. You opinions seem like fact only to you and you will be drawing conclusions that are far from what the truth really is.
It's a sad reality you live in that so many people have burdens they carry but no one will ever know. Somethings I can't even share in the blog because they're private but the pain is still there and I'm suffering. I can't give everyone the details so without details if you judge me, chances are you're judging me incorrectly.
There is no right or wrong answer for when you will take the time to fully understand an event very well. You will not always have the time necessary for an accurate judgment of the situation.
We are all guilty of this at some point and probably still doing it.
