What is Conclave Arcana
The game #splinterlands is based on cards, meaning a deck of cards that each player has available to play battles. From time to time, a new card collection is released, causing the entire game dynamic to change.
That’s what happened in May 2025 when the new card collection called Conclave Arcana was released. I bought some card packs to try out the new features, and this post shows how we can use these cards in battles to earn rewards in this #play2earn game!

Every player has that one card nobody else seems to talk about… This week, we want to shine a light on the cards that rarely get the praise they deserve — the Hidden Gems of Splinterlands.
This is my entry for the Hidden Gems contest! I chose a card from the more recent decks. Specifically from the Frontier collection, Spellmonger is one of this year’s releases, and I’ve been using it frequently. I currently own only 2 BCX of this card.
Spellmonger
Spellmonger is a human from the Neutral element, therefore it can be used in many battles! Its characteristic is having the lowest stats in all attributes:
- Attack: zero
- Armor: one
- Health: one
- Speed: one
- Abilities: cannot be trained + thorns
Since it cannot be trained, and considering its very high cost of 4 Mana, its only function is to exploit the Thorns ability. And for this purpose it has been very useful! In particular, there is a card in the Frontier collection that has a negative synergy, which is when the relationship between cards causes one of them to be harmed.
I’m talking about Vengeful Monk, which is a frontier card of the human type from the Neutral element. It has the Opportunity ability, which forces it to look for the enemy with the lowest health points.
This makes today’s featured card, Spellmonger, quite interesting. Because it has only one health point, it is possibly the card with the lowest health on the battlefield. There’s a very high chance it will attract all opportunity attackers. Let’s see this in practice when we analyze the battle below!

The battle unfolded in frontier mode, and Round 1 opened as follows:
What happens in the match is exactly as expected: the card with the lowest health on the battlefield is precisely Spellmonger, which causes the opponent’s Vengeful Monk to be drawn to it. And with each attack, the opponent is punished with -2 health points. Unfortunately, in just a few rounds our special card is eliminated.
But not before dealing good damage to the opponent. Only one health point remained for the attacker, leaving our round as follows:
Thanks to the imbalance in points between the tanks and the backlines, our opportunity attack will be drawn and will eliminate the opponent’s opportunity. And because of this, the victory will be granted to us; crazyphantombr will receive the glory for the excellent strategy!

O que é Conclave Arcana
O jogo #splinterlands é baseado em cards, ou seja, um baralho de cards que cada jogador tem a disposição para jogar as batalhas. A cada tempo, uma nova coleção de cards é lançada, fazendo com que toda a dinâmica do jogo mude.
Foi isso que aconteceu em Maio de 2025 quando foi lançada a nova coleção de cards chamada Conclave Arcana. Eu comprei alguns packs de cards para poder experimentar as novidades, e esta postagem mostra como podemos usar esses cards em batalhas, visando ganhar as recompensas desse jogo que é #play2earn!

Essa é minha participação no concurso Hidden Gems! Eu selecionei um card dos baralhos mais recentes. Especificamente da coleção Frontier , Spellmonger é um dos lançamentos desse ano, e tenho utilizado ele com frequência. Atualmente possuo apenas 2 BCX desse card.
Spellmonger
Spellmonger é um human do elemento Neutral, portanto pode ser utilizado em muitas batalhas! Sua característica é possuir os menores pontos em todos os atributos:
- Ataque: zero
- Escudos: um
- Pontos de vida: um
- Velocidade: um
- Habilidades: não pode ser treinado + thorns
Como não pode ser treinado, e tendo em vista seu altíssimo custo de 4 unidades de Mana, sua única função é explorar a habilidade Thorns. E para esta função ele tem sido muito útil! Em especial, existe um card na coleção frontier que tem uma sinergia negativa, que é quando a relação entre os cards faz com que um deles seja prejudicado.
Eu estou falando de Vengeful Monk, que é um card frontier do tipo human do elemento Neutral. Ele possui a habilidade Opportunity, que o forçará a procurar pelo adversário com menor pontos de vida.
Isso faz com o que o card em destaque hoje Spellmonger seja bastante interessante. Por ter apenas um ponto de vida, possivelmente é o card com menos pontos de vida em campo de batalha. É uma chance muito grande que ele irá atrair todos os atacantes opportunity. Vamos ver isso na prática quando analisarmos a batalha que segue abaixo!

A batalha se desenvolveu no modo frontier, e o Round 1 abriu da seguinte maneira:
O que acontece na partida é exatamente o esperado: o card com menor pontos de vida em batalha é justamente o Spellmonger, o que faz com que o Vengeful Monk do adversário seja atraído. E a cada ataque realizado, o adversário é punido com -2 pontos de vida. Infelizmente, em poucas rodadas nosso card especial é eliminado.
Mas não antes de causar um bom dano no adversário. Restaram apenas um ponto de vida ao atacante, o que deixa nosso round da seguinte forma:
Graças ao descompasso de pontos entre os tanks e as retaguardas, nosso ataque opportunity será atraído e irá eliminar o opportunity adversário. E graças a isso, a vitória será concedida a nós, crazyphantombr irá receber as graças pela excelente estratégia!
