The world of Splinterlands is always exciting, and when the opportunity arises to open new packs with the Merits received as rewards from Guild Brawl, that joy increases several times. I have accumulated quite a few Merits by fighting for the guild for a long time. Today I decided to spend those accumulated Merits and enrich my collection of gladiator cards. In today's blog, I will share with you how I bought packs from the guild store and how meaningful the moments of opening those packs were for me. Those who play Splinterlands regularly know how much impact gladiator cards have on our gameplay, especially when brawling.

After entering the guild store, the first thing I noticed was my current balance. I had 20,117 crowns and 7,517 Merits. The guild store looks quite nice, where a variety of items are available that only guild members can buy. I knew that it wasn't enough to just buy the pack; I needed some special stones to increase my chances of getting good cards. So I kept moving forward step by step. Since Gladiator cards are soulbound, they can't be bought or sold, so opening the pack and getting good cards is a huge milestone for us.

First, I decided to buy 3 Gladius cases or packs. Each pack costs 2,000 Merits, meaning a total of 6,000 Merits for 3 packs. The specialty of these packs is that each pack contains 5 random Gladiator cards, and at least one rare or better card is guaranteed. Gladiator cards can be used not only in Brawl battles, but also in Ranked matches with special modifiers, which have the power to change the game strategy. There was a kind of thrill in my heart when I took the packs into the basket.

The pack was purchased, but my goal was to be a little luckier. So I focused on buying Power Stones. Power Stones double our chances of getting Gladiator Gold Foil cards. I bought Power Stones with 15 charges. Since my Guild Lodge has a discount, it only cost me 1,080 Merits to buy these 15 charges. Each charge works on a card, which is automatically used when opening the pack. Gold Foil cards have a lot of value and game power, so this investment was worth making.

In addition to Gold Foil cards, everyone has the desire to get Legendary cards. To fulfil that goal, I decided to buy Blood Stones. Blood Stones double our chances of getting Gladiator Legendary cards. I also bought 15 Blood Stones with 15 charges, which cost 810 Merits. These stones made our pack-opening experience more exciting because they increased my hopes of getting a big card. All in all, I now had enough resources for a successful pack opening session.

Now it was time for the real thing! When I clicked on the pack opening button, five cards were flipped over on the screen. This is the most exciting moment for any gamer. The red glow around the cards meant that there might be something good hidden inside. I was praying in my heart that I would get at least one good, powerful card that would help me win Guild Brawls in the future. The moment of flipping the cards one by one was truly incomparable.

When the first pack was fully opened, I saw that I had 5 wonderful cards in my hand. In this pack, I got Chimney Wallstop, Hugo Strong Sword, Ysgald Vorst and Whistling Demon. But the highlight of this pack was the rare card at the bottom—Relenor Cleaver. This 9 mana water unit card is as scary to look at as it is to fight. Its 7 armour and 6 health make it a strong defensive and offensive card. Getting such a rare card from the first pack was a big win for me.

The excitement increased even more when opening the second pack. This time, a rare card called Orella Abaddon came out of the pack. This 2 mana card has a snake ability, which is good at attacking enemies from behind. In addition, in this pack I got Helmet Kharafax, Alva the Crusher and Whistling Demon. The Crush Wonderford card is also a very effective fire unit. Although a small card, Orella Abaddon has added a new dimension to my collection, because it can be a game-changer in low-mana battles.

Finally, it was my turn to open pack number 3. As soon as I opened this pack, I saw the rare fire card Sorius. This 3 mana ranged card is very fast and can hit enemies perfectly. Along with this were the cards Chimney Wallstop (again), Helmet Kharafax, Witch of Warwick, and Bertrol Gibson. Although I didn't get any legendary or gold foil cards this session, getting 3 nice rares from 3 packs and some important commons really made my pack opening today worthwhile. These new cards will make my gladiator deck much stronger and help my guild win in the brawls ahead. All in all, today was a very rewarding day for me as a Splinterlands player.
