I'm not sure I've read any books based on video games, but then I've not played many games recently. I grew up on classic SF that would influence the games. It does seem like a lot of games have deep lore that may make them more engaging.

I've always loved games with plenty of lore to dive into. It's a great of continuing to experience it even after completing it, which then sometimes sparks the idea of doing a fresh replay
