Hello fam, hope you all are doing all fine. For today's post let me take you into the dusty saloon of FISTFUL OF FRAGS, a free-to-play Wild West shooter game on steam. Game is full of intense battles, violence and blood (optional).
Steam describe it as: Multiplayer based, first person enabled, action packed and skill demanding shooter set in the Wild West times. A unique combination of non stop action and slow but powerful weaponry.
I have played this game back in the golden days as a side hustle whenever I used to get bored of usual games. Recently, I read a thread in which the usual players talked about changes in the game. So, I decided to play it once again and relive the nostalgia. There weren't many people playing, only 2 servers had enough players. Basically, the game has already seen its peak now it is more like a dead game. But, the new changes (hopefully) will bring new and OG players back.
Enough of the introduction and reasoning, lets get into the real deal.
I joined a server which had around 14 players, first off I had to decide which character to play. Usually game has 4 different characters but the server I joined had 3 in it because, it was 2v2v2.
Characters List:
1. Vigilantes
2. Desperados
3. Bandidos
4. Rangers
First off, there are variety of guns and this specific thing makes it way more fun: think of Colt Peacemaker, Sharp rifles, Coach guns, Shotguns and yes, DYNAMITE for Kaboom. Toss a stick of dynamite into a crowded corner and feel the cowboy hidden inside you.
My personal favourite is Smith Carbine but, it is a single shot with the most damage. Being honest, I didn't play good at all as I had forgotten the maps and the way of everything. I was like, "Did I really miss that shot. :(" I played for more then 2 hours at least and the best frags in a single round were 12 and I had died like 20+ times.
Game is bit extra realistic for its accuracy percentage.
Combat is slow but full of chaotic fun, you may get mini-heart attacks in between but that's normal. After 2 games I had adapted to the sensitivity and learned the map. So in the next round I managed to get some extra frags and kill streak of 4. I must say, during in-between battles I had to think whether to keep on fighting with one bullet or go for the punches/kicks or duck behind a barrel? The decisions kept my pulses racing.
Speaking of Whiskey
Pass me the whiskey mate because it is the health potion in the game, you will need virtual shots of whiskey to restore your health. For me, this aspect will always remain the best and it is/was something new to experience. The visuals one get after drinking more than 2 shots is heavenly.
Crates are another aspect, there are three different types of crates: Gold, Blue and Red. Gold one has the most perfect weapons in it and once you have the shotgun, NOTHING will stop you from being the top fragger. (JK) I got the gold one in the very beginning but my teammate stole it. Hapless!
And that's the end, fam—whether you are an OG player craving nostalgia or a fresh face looking for some Wild West chaos, Fistful of Frags still has that charm-full of decisions that make every duel fun. Sure, servers may feel empty now, but when you land that perfect Smith Carbin shot or toss a dynamite perfectly, it's a pure rush of adrenaline. So gear up soldiers, grab your virtual whiskey and dive into it.
