Hello Fam, hope you all are doing great. It's been long since I last played any game. As I am on my 2 week vacation so I decided to relive years old nostalgia. YES! I am talking about MAFIA 2. For me it is, was, will always remain a top-notch game. In today's post, I am going to talk about the fun this game still carries after 10 years. So, let us begin!
Introduction
Mafia 2 has a special way of teleporting us back to the OG era of crime dramas. I do not know where to begin? The storyline is one of the best even in today's time. I was scared at first that the quality will be bad as game is an old one, but this game remains relevant. You get used to the graphics and the nostalgia hit.
The story begins with our main character "Vito Scaletta," childhood life. The family travels to "Empire Bay," a fictional city. The story keeps on going and we see that Vito along with his bestie "Joe Barbaro" is doing a robbery. The policeman arrives, Joe got lucky but our Vito gets caught and sent to war.
Mafia II is a 2010 action-adventure game developed by 2K Czech and published by 2K. It was released on 24 August 2010 for PlayStation 3, Windows, and Xbox 360. The game is a standalone sequel to 2002's Mafia, and the second installment in the Mafia series.
CHAPTER 1: THE OLD COUNTRY (SICILY, JULY 1943)
The main play starts, Vito along with other soldiers is seen carrying a gun and we have to fight the Italian and German along with local Sicilian folks. During this part, we are given thorough instructions, what, when and how to do it. A reminder: I am playing on EASY mode :).
After killing more than few people, we are somehow defeated by an enemy's tank. Though, I kept on shooting it with the machine gun but, it was of no use. The tank missile shatters our handsome hero along with the others.
The next moment, we are lying on the floor and enemy is going to kill us.
But wait, we are the protagonist in the story. So, here comes the, "Don Calo." He announces that war is over and everyone can go back to their families and loved one. All they have to do is to trust him.
CHAPTER 2: HOME SWEET HOME
Vito goes back to his hometown and Joe comes to pick him up. He gives us the ride to the city and the next moment, we are at a bar. Being honest, I, too, along with Vito found the girl at the bar beautiful. It feels like developers had spent too much time on her. Her eyes, her facial structure, her hair everything is perfectly carved. (Later on she will be at Joe's flat providing her services :}) After finishing their drinks, Joe offers Vito to come see him as he has work for Vito. But first, Vito has to go and visit his mom.
At the house, Vito eats and sleeps. After waking up, he wears his Tuxedo (our professional mafia man) and is ready to see Joe. But, Vito's sister is being harassed by a man to whom his family owes a big amount. We get to learn how to through punches and self-defence mechanism. After the fight, Joe promises her sister that he will take care of the loan amount.
Now, we are to ready to go see Joe. We meet Joe at his flat and now, the real business starts. We get to ride a car. And yes, driving a car is way too hard :(. The snowy surface makes it nearly impossible to drive without crashing into someone. Dah, it is easy to drive in GTA. On our arrival we see a car and after learning the stealing way, we steal it. The policeman approaches and now, we have to go to the garage and change its identity. It was easy to do so (You can see in the pictures below 🥲😂)
Now, we have to go to Mike Bruski. He tells us to steal a car from someone else's garage and we will get paid. We get our first gun and a red car to test it. The car is blown up after 2 shots.
We get to the location and kills a bunch of Gangsta's, take the car and get back to the Bruski. He offered us $300 but after the mission Vito demands $400 as it was a risky task. Joe takes his cut of $100 for being a middle-man.
By the end of chapter 2, we have not only earned our stripes in Empire Bay's criminal underworld but also fallen in love with the cities charm. SO, strap in as it is just a beginning. I hope to see you guys in the next chapter named: Enemy of the State.
