Hello Everyone
Welcome to my blog.
I came across this vegetable plant that brought back memories and emotions.
When I was little.
Once the planting season starts, we could start planting crops in a place.
We did more of mixed farming then, and it was cool.
But amongst the crops we planted then ranging from corn, okra, pumpkin, cassava, pepper, some other tubers like four leaved yam,yam and this vegetable (Hierba Pepinera).
We start plucking Hierba Pepinera before harvesting others.
That is, it tends to grow faster than others in the garden.
I grew up to love the Hierba Pepinera because I started eating it early, most people don't really like it because they are not used to it.
Hierba Pepinera is tough and spongy when you touch it, it feels harsh.
But when you cook it in soup form, it softens and is very delicious to enjoy, just make sure to add okra to it and you are good to go.
I could remember when we could enjoy it after the day's work in the garden.
And it's best eaten hot served.
So, we all would dig in and start enjoying the soup immediately my mom finishes cooking it.
And it's very fulling, that's the beauty of veggies.
I miss those days seriously.
Yes, this vegetable holds a remarkable memory.
Even if I cook and eat it alone, it won't be the same with how we enjoyed it as a family then, coupled with how we planted and grew it ourselves.
True definition of your labour shall not be in vain.
Do you know the vegetable?
Do you eat it?
How do you cook it?
I would love to know if you don't mind sharing it in the comments section.
Thank you very much for stopping by my blog 😊
Do enjoy the rest of your day.
