Yup this is pretty much what it looks like. if anything it's more red. I love these guys.
I was actuly planning on doing this with pencil crayons but then my kitty decided it'd be great to nap on top of my pencil crayons. And who am I to disturb such perfection?
I started the digital sketch began with a sketch as they often do.
Then I realized that the shell was to small and made it bigger.
Then I started with the colour.
Then I addd some dark and stuff with shell.
Studying the texture of the shell was actually really fun. I enjoyed working on that part. So many little lines.
The original image had a hand holding the snail but I really didn't wanna deal with that. So you get Rocks.
I just put down a bunch of colour and went nuts with textures until I liked the resuts.
then I added the background, but it didn't really pop so I added the white halo effect.
