Hi, I am Arveno from Surabaya city. in this content i want to share about my worries in my housing area. I am living in housing near sea, mangrove area near the border between sea and the lake. And this week, in my country, the tides is kinda high. Almost makes flood on my area.
This is what i take picture yesterday before going to Hokky supermarket. On the backside of my house there are waterways that connect to sea. And usually this water is not that high. Especially when the weather is hot like that day. In fact, usually this waterway is almost dry and i can see some of crab and eel trying to get the water. But, this year the weather kinda strange too. It is still rain even though it supposed Dry season right now. And thats why i kinda worried too. Hopefully this week or for the next 2 week, this area not getting any rain at all. Esepcially heavy rain. I believe it would make my house flooded if the rain coming. Fortunatley yesterday and today is not rain at all. But, the weather forecast said that the humidity still high and having higher chance to rain.
And after living here almost 4 years, this year the high tides is the worst among other year. I am afraid that if the rain is coming in the bad time like in the midnight, me and my family cannot prepare anything. But,after my neighbour buzzing around on whatsapp group lately with this news. I think i still need to prepare the important document to be placed on higher grounds and also i need to packaging some clothes,important belongings on suitcase just in case if something bad happened. But, if until next week the rain is not coming i think it would be fine, The tide will be lowered and goes back to normal. Thats why i am hoping this week and the next week the rain is not coming. And if you see at the picture above, we can still seeing the sidewalk right. Yeah i took the picture at mid day.
And this picture i capture after i am back from Hokky yesterday. The sidewalk is is literally drowning by the flood. The tide still rising. And the forecast said that the tide will still rising until next month that literally 3 days. Hopefully the tides is just high limited to this high. If it got higher, i believe the main access road to going in and out to my house will be flooded by water. And if the tides still rising, i bet my house started to get flooded too. Thats why i am afraid about rain this week. LOLZ.
Luckily, the head of my housing community is really having quick response. This water gate already closed. So, the water is slowing down if the tides still rising. Yeah the water is kinda slowing down into our housing area, it needs to circulating outside first until flooding our main road than going inside our housing area. But, yeah until this time, the water is still calm and not rising again. But, the tide still not lowered. Hopefully tomorrow the Tides lowered and we can sleep peacefully.
