Hi, I am Arveno from Surabaya city. In this content i want to share about what we got after so many times battle againts developer that not having responsible at all. The only thing that this developer think is just get profit and profit until forgot how to implementing city planning. And somehow those developer kinda like asking people to fight againts them. And then no need to wait for so long, the people on this neighborhood already made a petition to goverment that those new building will lead to flood since the water cannal is narrowed.
I dont know how about the battle, i did not following the battle since at that time i already decided to buy the new house that the housing area is beside of this developer that having a problem and after i move out i will dont have any kind of the trouble again, thats why i am not join into the battle againts those developer.
As I said before that the water cannal is really narrowed. Of course the debit of the water level will increase day by day especially since no one wants to cleaning up the mud that settles in the bottom of the water cannal. Not to mention how much the plastic trash also. Seriously, i have lived here for 4 years and never once this road in front of my house got flooded. This is the first time ever that this road got flooded. And almost enter the fence. Fortunately all of house in this area are leveled up. So, it need almost 1 meter long to make the water entering the house. All my neighboor shocked too with this flood. It never happened before. Someone said that this is result of opening new housing area (the place that i buy). But i kinda agree with them. Yes of course this new housing area will make the water cannal narrowed. And it really a lot. I alredy talked to Neighborhood Association and give suggestion to make a better public place like fishing pond that cultivate some fish like carp or even catfish that can parse the dung or algae. And also it can attract people to gathering in there. So, it can takes two birds with one stone right. The water cannal is bigger, new housing area can got public place. And also if they want to make a bigger business then opening a cafe beside the fishing pond can be a good idea. I am pretty sure many people will eating in there since it closer than need to go to Park Shanghai that need to drive with traffic.
And what worsening is the rain is not stopped for a long time. That unusual too especially this morning until evening the sky is really bright and sunny. After reach 3 p.m then it is started to rain and its not stopped still drizzling until right now 10 p.m.
Even the places that having so many plants in that area still got flooded. Yeah when the tide rising this housing area cannot do anything since right now this place is already flanked by apartement and new housing area. And yeah even though the house is leveled up but the road is below the road of new housing area.
The good news is this housing area have a drainase system that can be manually activated if the flooded is too much. So, the filter pump will make the water go through water cannal and the gate flood will be closed. So the water will not entry back. But, this can still be used if the water level in water cannal still below road. And it sure does for today. But i cannot imagine when the tide is very high and then there is heavy rain. I believe that this event just maybe once or twice in a year at max. But, we dont know about that. Surely we cannot predict the nature at all. If that happened I'm pretty sure that this housing area will got flooded and can reach the house. Same with my housing area too. Even the ground is higher but when the tide is really high, we cannot sure what will happened.
