Hi, I am Arveno from Surabaya city. In this content i want to share when we are teaching my son a lesson about his study while we are eating out. Recently his grades has been down. I dont know why he feel lazy when study. He often avoiding to study and want to play games all day long. And this is kinda our concern right now. If he continue like this it will make he stay and cannot continue to upper class.
At first, my wife that told my son about the problem and starting make a conversation about his grades and his study. My wife started with rewards and punishment method. We are not telling him first before the assesment start since we need to know first how he will study. If he can study well, we dont need using Reward and Punishment method. But, since until the last day of assesment, he still pretty lazy. Then we though that this Punishment and Reward is need to be used.
At first my wife telling the gift first. But, all of this gift need condition that is if my son grades above 90, she will buy him a toys. But, if any of his subject got grades below 90 he wont get any toys at all. After hearing that, he sounds like broken heart and started to cry. Then its is my time to enter into this conversation. I explain to my son about responsibility,rewards,and punishment. I am hoping that he will understand about this conversation. I told him that everything that he already did it will having consequence. And he need to responsible about what he did and for the consequences. I also give example that this rewards and punishment is also the consequences. Its fully his fault if he did not get the toys in the end if his grades below 90. Both me and my wife already told him to study even we are accompany him to study and he still lazy around. So, i told him that he need to bear the consequences and if want this toys. He need study everyday and starting to be discipline in order to get all the rewards easily. I also telling him that all hardwork everyday combined with preparation earlier it will make all the assessment and all the study easier since he will getting used with all of his studies.
After he nodding and stopped crying, i am hoping that he understand well about this lesson. But, i dont know i doubt it since i used to be like him when i was a kid. I am pretty lazy too. Thats why it makes me like what i am today. Sometimes i still lazy to work and sometimes i lack of discipline too.
After the food came, he is really forgotten why he crying back then. I dont know maybe he is not being confident with his grade of his assessment. But, i am pretty sure he is doing hardwork too. It just that i believe it is really hard since he just got 1 day to remember all things at once. Thats why i always said that need to study everyday. So, the load for study is not hard when close to the assessment.
While my son eating his Noodles, i ordered Chicken Salt Egg. This food is really delicious. The saltines combined with the sweet sauce it makes the blend really flavourus.
And my wife ordered a big bowl of Chicken Rice. It is not whats look like, the portion is not that big. But, the flavour also nice too. I wonder why my brother does not like eating at Hao Peng You Kopitiam. I really enjoying eating here.
