Hi, I am Arveno from Surabaya city. In this content i want to share about my cacti plant current situation. Its been a long time since i am posting about my cacti plants. Since i almost never take care of my cacti plant anymore. Yeah i dont know i kinda lazy and dont have time to take care this plants. Actually in my rent home there is some constraint when taking care this cacti plants.
Some constraint that bothering me is in my neighboorhood there are so many stray cats that always bothering my house. They are often taking shit and pee in my frontyard. And thats makes my growing media, rocks, pumice stone, and some decorative gravel will contaminated with their shit. And it is not good for my plant and also for my health too. And if i keep all my media on my backyard. It need to entering my main house and will make my home dirty and i am pretty lazy to cleaning up and it really troublesome for me.
Thats why in the last 2 years i never taking care about my plant anymore. But even though i never care somehow the universe still keep them and make them thriving and still alive. Look at those 2 cacti that i shared. They are still look cool and healthy. Especially the first picture. Actually the colour is more shaped if we are looking with own eyes. Since i took this picture at evening and in my house the sun light is not too good so the picture is going darker. But it still really beautiful if got morning light.
Some of them can thriving in harsh situation. I know that cacti can living and utilize the water from everywhere even from morning dew and can hang on from the heat situation like in my city. But, if they are lack water i think they will starting to dry and died. But yeah some of them is really strong. Even they can handle the baby too.
I will think about continue to playing cactus again. But, back again this hobby kinda take my time so much especially in the morning. That the right time for watering and changing its media for the first new media to make the rot fresh. And also when the pot changed it can make the cacti will grow bigger.
Look at this Dorstenia, even after they are whitering, this plant can still stand straight and still hard that means this plant kinda healthy. But, when looking the leaves. This plant is need water and some kind of minerals. I think after 2 years the media is not changed, all the minerals inside the pumice stone will be depleted and need to be mixing again with new fresh mixing soil.
But some of them are really dead. They are too dry. But many of them died because of rat. I seen some of them just half and dry. From the bot i know that is rat. Since this cacti is juicy for some animals especially mamals. They will eating this cacti as diet to get the water and the minerals inside this cacti.
Sometimes when i seen this my remaining cactus. I really want to back again and starting again. But i really need to think and need some capital to start. Like i need to buy container for the gravel and pumice so the cat or rat cannot pee or taking shit in there. Then i need some of cosmetic gravel and i need new pot i guess. Since the old one already broke due the heat and rain. They are plastic i believe if too long got direct heat and water from rain it will starting to crack and not long after that will shattered. The second i really need to wathc the time and need to arrange the right place so all my cacti can get direct morning light and shading at midday and afternoon time. And also i need to avoiding direct rain drop in order to make this cactus growing media stay dry and not over wet. Well maybe after i decided either i am still stay in my rent house or i will moving out in the next mid year, i can pick still want to take care of this cactus or just let it be and making small garden and let it them be there forever ( I will as giveaway to the house owner). I really want badly actually. But i am too lazy to starting over. And i dont have any reason to start over.
