We are rarely open the given books, the teacher told us it would be boring to learn with a book based method, yet tell us the book is good if we want to learn it at the house. We are encouraged to speak more on the class. Telling experience and thought was the most way we done that, but sometimes we will also have a mini games ! This is interesting, because we have to listen to the rules, and then trying to communicating with each other and when playing games, we often think less about making mistakes, because we are just having fun. There are several card games but the most popular games we had is werewolf, where we have to make argument to each other, and sometimes has to hide some lies as well if we are happened to be the werewolf. I was the first werewolf, and lucky enough to win the game 🤣

This picture is taken after we done doing a drama, with a pose mimicking a cat. We are challenged to make a drama with our own story based on 2 cards, an object and an activity. The other group get the cat and the praying, they really nailed with great story and acting !

Besides all the fun, we still got to learn some theory, like the word orders, some important grammar, writing a letter, etc. We also have 2 test, the mid one and the final one, and most of us are having improvement on the IELTS score (unofficial test).

Use it or Lose it

Our teacher is making this statement which I think is very important to remember. When we are learning a language, we have to use it, or we will gonna lose it. It's not just on learning language, most of things will forgotten if we are not talking or thinking about it, and on language, it becomes more important. And, as expected, we (or maybe just me), are having less conversation after the 3 week course is end. We are back to our routine at the office, with nobody talked in english. Some people on the office are actually had a plan to make a day in a week where people should talk in english (whoever that want to join the movement), because some just realize how important to be able to listen and speaking in english when they have to work with foreign people, but it never happens.

Some people of the course's class actually also had a plan to stay in touch, keep practicing to speak english by having the werewolf at the mobile phone (there are a lot of it now), but until I write this which already more than a month, still nothing happens 🤣

I guess everyone is busy on their routine again, I personally have been so busy after my wife is giving birth 3 weeks ago and still have some problem on her caesar wound. Anyway, I think playing the werewolf won't be the same if we are not really around, because the body language is another part of this lying game, right ? Have you ever play werewolf ? Hive as a Great Place to Practice

I personally think that regularly write on Hive is helped me to maintain my writing skills in english. This is because we have a very positive people here, nobody judging us because our bad writing skills, as long as we not spamming it for rewards. We can also write anything here ! So you can write what you loved or want to share. And the reward for the content is another factor that could spark us to keep writing. What else can we expect ?
