Stuck and Survived Three Typhoons

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY9 days ago (edited)

Finally, after more than a week of gloomy skies, the sun have finally shown yesterday afternoon. Despite the sun shining since afternoon, most towns and cities here in my province are still submerged in flood.

The first typhoon, Crising, has been bringing rains since last week that some roads have already began to get flooded. I was praying the flood doesn't get in the tricycle I was riding on my way to a birthday party.

There was even an alert already about severe rain in our region.

I thought rain would finally stop or weaken after the typhoon moved away but then my tablet continued to buzz in a maddening sound which jolted me every time the emergency alert flashed on the screen. I even get awakened when I'm asleep. Apparently, two more low pressure area developed near the island of Luzon which have high chances of developing into a typhoon according to the news.

I was already worried that flood would get in the house as there were no signs of the rain stopping soon. And later on, those two other low pressure have finally evolved into a typhoon.

I thought those two typhoons were at the east (Philippine Sea) but I was surprised to see at the news that one of it was at the West Philippine Sea and just a bit above our province. Lol. The weather reporter was even talking about the fujiwhara effect which will cause the typhoon to take a u-turn resulting to a delayed or slower exit.

And my worst nightmare have happened again. Flood water slowly crept inside and entered our home again due to the nonstop strong rain. Thankfully, the flood inside only reached around half an inch deep, but still, it means cleaning again because flood water stinks. Right now, flood still haven't completely subsided inside our house. There's still flood at the dining area. Hopefully, it's gone by tomorrow.

My brother also updated me of his family's situation. Flood almost got in their home and their cars were slightly flooded. He told me he couldn't start his car but he was able to drive the other cars to a more safe area. They live near a beach so their watching out against flood and high tide.

I told him to use jack on his car to elevate it a bit since I remembered that there's a jack in the trunk. He said he would look for another because there's only one in the trunk. He would need two jacks for the car. I got this idea because I would always see my father and brothers do this to our cars as well when I was little. When the flood continues to go higher, they would even cover the exhaust pipe with plastic to avoid splashes or waves of flood from entering it.

As for me, I was lucky to be able to just stay in my room while the typhoon wrecked havoc until it moved away from our area. My only biggest enemy in times like this wherein flood is high is the toilet on the brink of overflowing. I can't flush it or else water in it would overflow. Lol. I'm mad because I just cleaned the bathroom a week before the storm hit.

Anyway, I used the time I'm stuck here in my room to write posts here on Hive and delete some photos on my phone because my phone storage was already full. We're just lucky that the dam in our province didn't open any gates or else the flood could've even reached our rooms. Yikes! We didn't experience power outage as well. We just lost internet connection around dawn yesterday when the typhoon was at its nearest where the wind was so mad.

Since most people are on their vlogger era, it wasn't difficult for me to get updates of the road situations in my town and nearby cities. Seeing the deep floods scared me. In a few years, floods will worsen and our home is no longer safe. I wish we could do improvements in our home soon to catch up with the worsening flood each year.

Stay safe, friends!

Thanks for reading! 💚

We were hit by these typhoons real hard. Felt sorry for those who experienced land slide and flood.

I hope your family and your community have already recovered from it. I agree. Let's hope our government can find better solutions to prevent these from happening again.

Grabe rin yung impact ng mga bagyo rito sa amin (Zambales). Hay!

Ay oo nga. Magkalapit lang tayo pangasinan ako. Talagang ramdam natin yung hagupit ng bagyo. 😬

Stay safe. Praying that this will be over soon.

Thank you. Typhoons were already gone and we're all safe now. 😄

Sending you Ecency curation votes.😉

Thank you 💕
