If you haven't been to the dentist for a while then take this as your sign to schedule an appointment.
The teeth is probably among the parts of the body we tend to overlook. We eat foods all through out the day and even munch at midnight when our stomach suddenly growl. Food trips..milk tea.. tiramisu.. etc. With all these sugary, starchy, and other trending foods, our oral health will be at risk if not well taken care of.
I believe a lot of Filipinos don't or can't prioritize their oral health for various reasons. I remember our family used to have regular dental visit when I was young but it lessened as we grew older. The last time we went to the dentist was way back before pandemic. Now that's more than five years. Lol. My sister was also occasionally asking me if I have already went to the dentist early this year. And finally I had the courage to make an appointment last week.

The only proof I could show here is the receipt because I came exactly at the appointment time and my dentist immediately had me fill out a sheet of paper and took my temperature and heart rate. She laughed when she saw my heart rate a bit higher than normal. "Did you run?", she asked. Lol. I didn't run but I walked faster on my way to the clinic to arrive on time.
I like the tool she used for cleaning my teeth. I don't know what it's called but it's a tool which uses air and water pressure. I forgot to ask the dentist though upon searching online, the airflow procedure shows up. Maybe that's what it's called. It's almost painless compared to the scraping tools.
Thankfully, the dentist said my teeth were alright and none of it needed filling. She said that it's rare nowadays to not have a dental filling due to lots of sugary foods in the market like milk tea so I must consider it an achievement.
It was also funny that she kept complimenting the structure of my teeth and not having wisdom teeth. She said I was lucky and it's rare not to have it. She also explained the shade of my teeth is alright and it's actually the shade of a strong teeth. My complexion also makes my teeth appear dull. Well, I should be thankful that my teeth are in good condition but I wish it was whiter. Lol.

Anyway, after the oral prophylaxis, I dropped by the grocery to purchase the other stuff I missed to get the other day. Of course, as a reward for finally having the courage to go to a dentist, I bought a pack of chocolate bars. Haha! (We had a good laugh when I told my dentist that I love chocolates. She said she won't limit me to eat it I just have to make sure to brush my teeth soon after.)
And so...

I also went to the bakery and bought breads! Yum! Lmao.
One of my favorite breads from this bakery is the chocolate krone. It's like a donut with generous filling.

Another favorite is their pork floss. I don't know why I've only tried this bread recently. The fiber-like pork topping is really interesting and somewhat addicting.

I also bought this bread with purple yam filling. I forgot its name but it's also good. The filling is also generous.

And last, the tuna empanada. I love empanada because of its texture just like the hopia. It's only sad that this one has little filling, like 80% of it is just air. I miss the empanada being sold at the school canteen back in high school because it was compact with lots of carrot, potato, and vegetables.
I promise to take care of my teeth better from now on. I must admit doing basic hygiene became so difficult when I felt 'depressed' after my mama passed away but I'm doing better now. Thanks to mama as well for providing the right nutrition for me to have a strong teeth. She used to proudly say that, so thanks to her for making sure I had healthy teeth starting when I was little.
Oral prophylaxis can be a bit expensive but it's better than spending much more later on when a tooth problem arises. The procedure can also be painful.
Congrats to me for finally bringing myself to the dentist alone though watching dental cleaning and other dental procedures online made me very anxious. I advise you not to watch to avoid getting scared.
