Good this very early morning dear Friends un the Black And White Community 🙌📸
The monument to our famous poet Ivan Goran Kovačić is located in the setting of nature and a small amphitheater. It is a place of silence and remembrance of the author of the powerful poem "Jama" and the poem "Moj grob". It was in this poem that the poet wrote verses in 1937 that speak almost prophetically about the mountain grave and the solitude of nature. He was killed in 1943 in the vicinity of Foča and for a long time it was not known where his remains were. When they were found, in 1996, the remains were transferred and laid to rest in a memorial monument in Lukovdol, his birthplace and now for years his final resting place. On the stone part of the grave is carved a part of his verses from the poem "Moj grob"
"In the dark mountain let there be a hum for me,
above it the howl of the wolf,
the rustling of black branches"
