My Splinterlands Mid-of-Season Activity: Playing, Renting, and Upgrading Cards
In Splinterlands Ranked Play, time is marked by seasons that last approximately 15 days.
Seasons are also a time frame in which I like to set goals and track my progress.
We are halfway through season 170 with 7 days and 20 hours remaining until the end.
At the beginning of the season, I set two main goals:
- to finish the season at least in the Diamond III league of the Modern Format
- to improve my results in the Frontier Format (ranking and win rate)
In the Frontier Format, my results are improving season after season.
In fact, with 7 days left until the end of the season, my position in the Gold Leaderboard is better than my position at the end of the previous season, even though my rating is still lower because I have played fewer battles, but I hope to improve this result as well.
In Modern Format, I am still a long way from reaching my seasonal goal because I am stuck in Gold III, occasionally managing to advance to Gold II only to drop back down again.
My results in the Modern Format have improved a lot since I rented two top-level summoners: Avina of the Wolf and Nomos
I have been trying for a long time to rent a third top level summoner to use in the Modern Format at a price lower than 65 DEC per day, but I haven't found one yet because the rental prices are much higher.
Because I can't find any max-level summoners at a price I like, today I looked for some high-level summoners, even if not max level, at a price I find acceptable.
The only summoner I found that I could potentially rent was Brewmaster Abraxas, level 7.
Level 7 is not ideal for the unit cards I use most frequently in the Modern Format because they are high level, but it is still a good level that would allow me to use level 3 legendary cards, level 4 epic cards, level 6 rare cards, and level 7 common cards.
I decided to rent level 7 Brewmaster Abraxas at a cost of 65 DEC per day.
I will do an 8-day test because that is how long the rental of this summoner will last.
If my rewards and game results will be much better than those I obtained in previous seasons, I will renew the rental, otherwise I will not.
Level 7 Brewmaster Abraxas should help me improve my win rate in battles where I cannot use Dragon, Fire, and Life element summoners, and will also be very useful in battles that have the Little League rule because my Akane and the summoners I rent, Avina of the Wolf and Nomos, have mana costs higher than 4.
In fact, when I can't use the highest-level summoners, my win rate drops significantly and I often lose battles.
With the rental of Brewmaster Abraxas, my daily card rental costs have increased, but my revenue from rentals exceeds this cost and I still have margin to rent other cards if I find good rental opportunities.
Since 65 DEC is worth 5.87 SPS and I earned 2.84 SPS in the last battle I won in the Gold III league, if Brewmaster Abraxas level 7 manages to win two more battles per day, I will have recouped the daily rental cost simply by playing, which is what I enjoy doing most on Splinterlands.
Will renting level 7 Brewmaster Abraxas be enough to advance me to the Diamond leagues of the Modern Format?
I don't know, but I hope so.
In the meantime, I have already used level 7 Brewmaster Abraxas in a battle with the Little League ruleset.
I lost the battle anyway, but not as predictably as other times when I knew I had lost just by looking at the battle formations.
In the first part of the current season, I also made progress in upgrading the new Conclave Arcana Reward cards thanks to the purchase of 418 Rarity Draws:
- 400 Common Draws
- 18 Rare Draws.
I have completed batch 1 of common draws and will now purchase rare draws until batch 1 is complete, then move on to epic draws if I have enough Glint.
I much prefer epic and legendary reward cards, but I've chosen to follow the same strategy I used for Rebellion reward cards, starting with common cards because I want to build a card base for when I can no longer use my Rebellion reward cards in the Modern Format.
It's true that it will be a while before the next rotation in the Modern Format, but it's better to prepare calmly and take your time ;)
My common Conclave Arcana Reward Cards have surpassed level 4, and two cards have reached level 5.
As for my rare Conclave Arcana Reward Cards, today I made my first upgrade to level 2 (Gravevbrand Warlock).
Today I also raised my purchase offer for Bren Palesworn because it was no longer the best offer on the market.
Bren Palesworn is a card I really like, and I hope to add it to my card collection soon.

La mia attività di metà stagione: Giocare, Noleggiare Carte e Upgrade delle carte.
Nel Ranked Play di Splinterlands il tempo è scandito dalle stagioni che hanno una durata di circa 15 giorni.
Le stagioni sono anche un intervallo di tempo in cui mi piace fissare degli obiettivi e monitorare i miei progressi.
Siamo a metà della stagione 170 perchè mancano 7 giorni e 20 ore alla conclusione.
All'inizio della stagione avevo fissato due obiettivi stagionali principali:
- terminare la stagione almeno nella lega Diamond III del Modern Format
- migliorare i miei risultati nel Frontier Format (ranking e win rate)
Nel Frontier Format i miei risultati stanno migliorando stagione dopo stagione.
Infatti, mancano ancora 7 giorni alla fine della stagione e la mia posizione nella Gold Leaderboard è migliore rispetto alla posizione che avevo alla fine della stagione precedente anche se il mio rating è ancora inferiore perchè ho giocato meno battaglie ma spero di migliorare anche questo risultato.
Nel Modern Format sono ancora molto lontano dal raggiungere il mio obiettivo stagionale perchè sto stazionando nella lega Gold III riuscendo sporadicamente ad avanzare nella lega Gold II per poi riscendere nuovamente.
I miei risultati nel Modern Format sono migliorati molto da quando ho noleggiato due evocatori di massimo livello: Avina of the Wolf e Nomos
E' da molto tempo che cerco di noleggiare un terzo evocatore di massimo livello da utilizzare nel Modern Format ad un prezzo inferiore a 65 DEC al giorno ma non l'ho ancora trovato perchè i prezzi di noleggio sono molto più alti.
Dato che non riesco a trovare evocatori di massimo livello al prezzo che mi piace oggi ho cercato qualche evocatore di livello alto anche se non massimo ad un prezzo per me accettabile.
L'unico evocatore che ho trovato potenzialmente noleggiabile è stato Brewmaster Abraxas di livello 7.
Il livello 7 non è l'ideale per le mie carte unità che uso più frequentemente nel Modern Format perchè sono di livello alto ma è comunque un buon livello che mi permetterebbe di utilizzare carte leggendarie di livello 3, carte epiche di livello 4, carte rare di livello 6 e carte comuni di livello 7.
Ho deciso di noleggiare Brewmaster Abraxas di livello 7 al costo di 65 DEC al giorno.
Farò un test di 8 giorni perchè tanto durerà il noleggio di questo evocatore.
Se le mie ricompense e i miei risultati di gioco saranno molto migliori rispetto a quelli che ho ottenuto nelle precedenti stagioni rinnoverò il noleggio altrimenti no.
Brewmaster Abraxas di livello 7 dovrebbe aiutarmi a migliorare il mio win rate nelle battaglie in cui non posso utilizzare gli evocatori degli elementi Dragone, Fire e Life e mi sarà molto utile anche nelle battaglie che hanno la regola Little League perchè il mio Akane e gli evocatori da me noleggiati, Avina of the Wolf e Nomos, hanno costi in mana superiore a 4.
Infatti quando non posso usare gli evocatori di massimo livello il mio win rate peggiora di molto e perdo spesso le battaglie.
Con il noleggio di Brewmaster Abraxas è aumentato il costo giornaliero che sostengo per il noleggio delle carte ma le mie Revenue from rentals sono superiori a questo costo e ho ancora margine di manovra per noleggiare altre carte se troverò buone occasioni di noleggio.
Dato che 65 DEC valgono 5.87 SPS e che nell'ultima battaglia vinta nella lega Gold III ho guadagnato 2.84 SPS, se grazie a Brewmaster Abraxas di livello 7 riuscirà a vincere due battaglie in più al giorno avrò recuperato il costo di noleggio giornaliero semplicemente giocando che è l'attività che mi piace fare di più su Splinterlands.
Sarà sufficiente l'aggiunta di Brewmaster Abraxas di livello 7 per farmi avanzare nelle leghe Diamond del Modern Format?
Non lo so ma spero di si.
Nel frattempo ho già utilizzato Brewmaster Abraxas di livello 7 in una battaglia con la ruleset Little League.
Ho perso comunque la battaglia ma non in modo così scontato come altre volte in cui sapevo di aver perso solo guardando le formazioni di battaglia.
Nella prima parte della stagione in corso ho fatto anche dei progressi nell'upgrade delle nuove Conclave Arcana Reward cards grazie all'acquisto di 418 Rarity Draws:
- 400 Common Draw
- 18 Rare Draw.
Ho completato il batch 1 dei common draw e adesso acquisterò i rare draw fino al completamento del batch 1 per poi passare agli epic draw se avrò Glint sufficienti.
Mi piacciono molto di più le reward cards di tipo epico e leggendario ma ho scelto di seguire la stessa strategia che ho seguito per le Rebellion reward cards partendo dalle carte comuni perchè voglio costruirmi una base di carte per quando non potrò più usare le mie Rebellion reward cards nel Modern Format.
E' vero ci vorrà tempo prima della prossima rotazione nel Modern Format ma meglio prepararsi con calma e tempo ;)
Le mie Conclave Arcana Reward Cards di tipo comune hanno superato il livello 4 e due carte hanno raggiunto il livello 5.
Per quanto riguarda le mie Conclave Arcana Reward Cards di tipo raro proprio oggi ho fatto il mio primo upgrade al livello 2 (Gravevbrand Warlock).
Oggi ho anche alzato la mia offerta di acquisto per Bren Palesworn perchè non era più l'offerta migliore sul mercato.
Bren Palesworn è una carta che mi piace molto e spero di aggiungerla presto alla mia collezione di carte.
