My dear friend, I completely agree with you about the cards, and I have repeatedly criticized the decision to tolerate bots, which, in my opinion, is counterproductive in a game with gameplay.
The big problem to be solved is the loss of the cards' game value.
If I can't sell my Byzantine Kitty, which is a strong summoner in the game, this is a problem that needs to be solved.
In my opinion, Splinterlands needs to focus on increasing the fun factor because that is the only way it can survive and/or grow, as web2 games do, which do not distribute earnings but only sell.
Frontier mode is a step in this direction, but there is still a lot to do...
