RE: Moving to another country with expenses paid for a year: which one and why? [ENG] / Trasferirsi spesati in un altro paese per un anno, quale e perché? [ITA] - #Unto&Bisunto 44º Contest

That's indeed an interesting topic to take part in... I did change my country of living 14 years ago (without having all expenses paid... 😃), and I was lucky enough to be able to choose the country... Many times in life, we don't have that option and we have to "go with the flow", so I'm really grateful for that...

On the other side, 14 years later, if I had another opportunity to change country of living, I would strongly consider the same choice as you! After visiting Italy a few times, I have to admit that it is a country where I could imagine myself living... The only part that's missing is to visit the southern part of the country to get the full picture...

If I may ask, do you have a specific Italian city as your favorite? 😃

Wow what a deep and long experience! And that's totally true, it's not the same when you can make a choice instead of moving to a selected place (maybe due to work...) I experimented both situations. But sometimes those not selected places become a great surprise and discovery!

But in any case, we all have favorites, and speaking of which, in my case (and yours), we're talking about Italy. And like you, I'm especially familiar with the north, so I'd like to experience more of that authentic, vibrant, and special south as well (although many also see its negative part, but every place has it, right? It just depends on what's truly worth it for you). And if I had to choose a city there, I don't know specifically but probably somewhere well-connected in Calabria, Sicily, or maybe not so far south, but always better near the coast!
