No había notado lo diverso que había sido este día, hasta que busqué en mi móvil las fotografías para hacer esta publicación.
La primera novedad con la que me encontré, fue una larga cola a la hora de ir a mi trabajo, algo no común en mi ruta.
Luego vi que algunos oficiales habían detenido el tráfico para tomarse unas fotografías. Eso lo explicaba todo. Sólo sonreí.
I hadn’t realized just how different this day had been until I looked through the photos on my phone to put together this post.
The first thing that caught my attention was a long line of cars on my way to work—something I don’t usually see on my route.
Then I saw that some officers had stopped traffic so they could take some photos. That explained everything. I just smiled.
Llegué a la oficina, con mi acostumbrado buen humor. Un par de colegas me dijeron que ya se notaba que estaba bajando de peso, eso me hizo sentir aún mejor.
Poco después, todos nos fuimos a una charla, con motivo del día de la seguridad, o algo así. Pasamos un rato agradable.
Luego, un colega y yo asistimos a una reunión técnica con otras gerencias y una empresa visitante.
Salimos de allí casi a la 1 P.M. Todo estuvo bien, gracias a Dios.
I arrived at the office in my usual good spirits. A couple of colleagues told me they could already tell I was losing weight, which made me feel even better.
Shortly after, we all went to a presentation for Safety Day, or something like that. We had a nice time.
Then, a colleague and I attended a technical meeting with other managers and a visiting company.
We left there around 1 p.m. Everything went well, thank God.

It’s wonderful to come home and find that my husband has made lunch. He does this almost every day, because he’s always home before I am.
Fortunately, we arrived on time for the orthodontic appointment, because where we live, getting from one place to another is usually very quick—there are wide avenues and little traffic.

We spent at least two hours at the dental clinic, but since the atmosphere is pleasant and they treat us so well, we don’t mind being there.
The orthodontist also told me I’d lost weight, and I 😁.
We’ve gotten into the habit of grabbing ice cream after our appointments, but today my kids wanted to go to a café we really like.
Their dad didn’t hesitate to make them happy, so we went there.
I noticed that there weren't any drinks on the menu that fit my current diet, so I didn't order anything.
Still, it made me happy to see everyone enjoying their drinks.
My husband ordered a cappuccino, my son a special cappuccino with whipped cream, and my daughter a hot chocolate.
Al salir de la cafetería, fuimos a una ferretería donde habíamos visto una puerta de seguridad que queríamos comprar, pero que pocos días después, cuando intentamos comprarla, se había agotado.

After leaving the café, we went to a hardware store where we had seen a security door we wanted to buy, but a few days later, when we tried to buy it, it was sold out.
Then some brown ones arrived, but we needed a white one, because that’s the color required in the neighborhood where we’re remodeling our house. All the facades must be uniform, something I fully agree with.
In the end, we decided to buy the brown one and paint it white later, because we’re worried that prices will go up after the president’s announcement of a wage increase on May 1.
All I have left as a reminder of the white door we wanted is the photo.
Finalmente regresamos a casa, porque poco después, mi esposo debía llevar a nuestro hijo a su clase de karate.
Lo mejor fue que pudimos hacer todo lo que teníamos programado para hoy y para mí es reconfortante la sensación del deber cumplido, algo que agradezco siempre a Dios.
We finally made it home, because shortly after that, my husband had to take our son to his karate class.
The best part was that we were able to do everything we had planned for today, and for me, there’s something comforting about the feeling of a job well done—something for which I’m always grateful to God.
