‎The Silent Burden of Being a Man

in GEMS7 days ago

‎Hi Hive,

‎It's another beautiful day and it's with great pleasure that I'm welcoming everyone to my blog.

‎The one thing society hardly talks about is how exhausting it can be to be a man emotionally. From a young age, many boys are raised with one dangerous sentence: “Men don’t cry.” And somehow, that sentence follows them like a shadow into adulthood.

‎As a man, people always expect you to be strong, always have answers, always survive pressure without breaking. You are expected to carry responsibilities silently, solve problems quietly l0, and even when life is tearing you apart inside, the world still expects you to smile and move on like nothing happened.

‎But honestly, who created that rule?

‎Who decided that a man complaining about life makes him weak? Who decided that a man crying means he has failed? Why is vulnerability accepted in everyone else but treated in men like a disgrace?

‎But the truth is, men are human beings before they are “providers” or “protectors.” Human beings get tired. Human beings break down. Human beings feel fear, disappointment, rejection, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion too.

‎Sometimes a man is simply overwhelmed but not angry. Sometimes a man is not distant but he is mentally exhausted.

‎Sometimes he is not weak but he is carrying too much alone.

‎And sadly, a lot of men suffer quietly because they are fear of being judged. They cover-up pain until it becomes depression, frustration, addiction, or emotional isolation. Some men publicly smile while fighting battles nobody knows about privately.

‎For me, I believe this stigma needs to end.

‎Strength should not mean silence. And being strong should also mean having the courage to admit when life is becoming too heavy. A man should also be able to say, “I’m tired,” without any signs of being ashamed. A man should be able to cry without feeling less masculine. He should be able to ask for help without society questioning his worth.

‎Real strength is not about pretending nothing hurts you, but it's about facing your emotions honestly instead of hiding behind pride.

‎If men were allowed to express themselves freely without fear of mockery then the world would be a healthier place. Because even the strongest shoulders get tired of carrying everything alone.

‎Men deserve support too.

‎Men deserve understanding too.

‎And yes... men also deserve the freedom to break down sometimes without being told to “man up.”

‎Because man is human too..
