How true that is. And tragic, really. In our youth, we almost wish time away thinking "I'll be happy when I'm this old or that old, and then when we get there, we're mostly terrified and disappointed that things hardly ever work out the way we plan. And hen we spend the rest of our adult lives trying to relive our youth or somehow get those years back that we wasted. As for ostriches, my father used to farm them, literally from scratch! He would look after them in a high tech incubator and hatch them himself, looking after them into adulthood. He would be the first to tell you that they are the most stupid birds in existence, and hilarious so I don't think this sort of existential thinking would worry them in the least!
