In service of stimulating activity here in our Hive community, I have decided to revive a regular "column" I had on one of my (pre-Hive) blogs, a couple of decades ago.
The idea was to stimulate engagement by asking a question for debate, and inviting people to share their perspectives.
Back then, I actually served up something daily, and there were no real "rewards," other than the discussion itself.
For now, I'm thinking twice a week...Wednesday and Saturday, we'll see if anyone cares.
Since we're on Hive, I'm going to "bribe" people into participating by setting 25% of the post rewards for distribution to commenters via the @commentrewarder service.
There are no formal "rules" other than a reminder that I am not asking these things because I don’t know, I am simply inviting discussion and engagement. And... perhaps... inviting people to take their brains out and play with them!
The Burning Question:
Without a doubt, we live in turbulent times. There are wars, civil unrest, economic uncertainty, threats of AI taking over the world, inflation, collapsing governments, infectious diseases, pollution and more.
Small wonder many people are worried!
Will there be a civil war in the USA? Will chemtrails be the end of us all? Will conspiracy theories be the end of us all? Will there be an alien invasion? Were there really any Epstein files? Doom and destruction?
It's all worrisome, no?
On the other hand, hasn't pretty much every generation since God-knows-when felt like the world is heading down the slippery slope to self-destruction? Maybe we're just in the middle of same-old, same-old, except with a new set of circumstances to frame the situation. Why is this any different, or more worrisome?
Think about these many things... and think about the good things happening in your life, as well.
Then answer this: All things considered, do you have hope for the future? If so, how and why? If no, how and why? I don't just mean hope that you'll be alive, upright and breathing on your own, but do you have hope that we will see a better future?
Thanks for participating, and till the next one!
