I felt nostalgic thinking back on my first moments with gadgets like a phone and computer. It's been like over a decade and I was still able to go back to those moments, tells how much of an impact they had on my life in general.
For someone who tends to remember every tiny scene of an exciting moment, I appreciate this prompt for taking me back to one of those moments.
A time in my life that anything new whether cheap or expensive, cool or local, excites me and I was always curious to know how to use whatever I find out I can't use. Getting my first phone wasn't so much exciting for me.
My first phone happened to be one I got from dad after like a thousand time of using it while he is away from it, so it just felt like a continuity when it became mine, no excitement but I was happy.
Games! Games again! More games! That was all I used the phone I first used for. I can still remember how exciting it was for my siblings and I to take turns in playing the snake game in my new (dad's old) phone lol.
The first time I got the opportunity to handle a smart phone was more exciting, because I had planned so much of what I'll use it for even though I wasn't sure how I'll operate it.
Well, I remember following a demo in the phone and found myself creating two social media accounts to connect with people I knew nothing about. It wasn't obvious I was using a smart phone for the first time, I mean, I was so great at understanding how to use it so easily.
But my first with a computer at a computer center? It has got to be the most surprising and most exciting first experience for me in regards to gadgets.
Since I was introduced to computer at a computer center, Mavis Beacon became my one and true friend to typing and playing games on a computer as I learned other features. I can admit I was one of those who abused Mavis Beacon or should I say, I used it very well for the purpose it was made for.
It was a surprising first to me because I got a compliment from my trainer on my first day at his center, the feeling was over the top for me. It's a good thing I get to still use smart phones and a PC now, even for the purpose of making money unlike before.
My First moments played a huge role in how well and good I am with devices now. Still finding my place with my pc like I did with computers back then but until I do, this was a good throwback for me.
