Hello Community,
I don’t think technology is making us less creative… but I do think it is making us a bit lazy with our creativity sometimes, and there is a difference.
See, creativity has never really been about the tools, it is about the person using them, back then, people used paint, pen, or even just their hands to create crazy beautiful things, now we have AI, software, and all these tools that can do things faster, that does not kill creativity, it just changes how we express it.

But here is where the problem comes in… convenience.
When something becomes too easy, people stop trying as hard, Instead of thinking deeply or pushing ideas, it is tempting to just type a prompt and accept whatever comes out, No stress, no struggle, no real effort, and sometimes, that struggle is actually where the best ideas come from.
Like imagine someone designing a building years ago, They had to sketch, calculate, adjust, start again… there was a whole process, that process forced them to think, to be intentional, now, with technology, you can generate multiple designs in minutes. It’s impressive, but it can also remove that creative muscle workout.
So yeah, in that sense, technology can weaken creativity if we rely on it too much.
But at the same time, it can also make creativity even bigger.
Think about it, so someone with ideas but no drawing skills can now bring their vision to life, a small creator can edit videos, design graphics. Reach people all over the world without needing a whole team, That’s actually powerful.technology is opening doors that used to be locked.
So instead of killing creativity, I think it is just exposing how we choose to use it.
There are people who use AI and tools to enhance their ideas, like they already have something in their head and they use technology to bring it out better, then there are people who depend on it completely, like the tool is doing all the thinking for them, that is where creativity starts to drop.
For me, I think the real question is not is technology ruining creativity? but are we still thinking for ourselves?
Because if you are still thinking, still questioning, still adding your own touch, then your creativity is intact, the tool is just helping you move faster.
Now, how do we stay creative with all this around?
First thing, don’t lose your own voice, it is easy to start sounding like everything else when you rely too much on generated stuff, take time to think things through yourself before using any tool.
Second, create without shortcuts sometimes, like write without AI, design without templates, just struggle through it, It might not be perfect, but it keeps your creative muscles active.
Third, be intentional, don’t just create because you can, create because you actually have something to say or express, that alone makes a huge difference.
And lastly, use technology as a partner, and not a replacement, let it assist you, and not define you.
At the end of the day creativity is still much alive, It hasn’t gone anywhere, It’s just being tested in a way.
No I don’t think technology is killing our creativity, I just think it is revealing who is willing to stay creative and who is okay, with letting the machine do all the work.
