When we make a mistake or doing something wrong, the most common thing we can do is to ask for an apology. The idea of sincere apology is not to acknowledge our mistake, but more of it to show respect to people we might have hurt or make them suffer some loses. Apologizing is also the first door we can open for further reconciliation.
Let me show you a couple of example from me...
Sorry I was sick recently, my condition has not been stable. I have missed out replying some of the comments I have received within the last few days. It is not something personal or I am being arrogant or taking a stand that I just here to farm post rewards, it is just that I have been in bad condition and I do not see replying older comments as something that necessity.

I made a 10 Hive Power Up today as my participation in HIVE POWER UP DAY. I know this number is a minimum one. Sorry if I just made this like a formality, I really in need of money right now so I can't waste any tiny bit of money.
so will you forgive me for these stuffs? I really hope you can accept my apology here...

This was a famous and viral case happened a few month ago, when a famous influencer was sued for extortion. He made an apology video, in hope that in one go everyone would notice it and accept his apology.
Well, I know most of you won't understand what he said, but what I want to point out here is this... look at him, what do you think if someone asking for apology and said it with strong and high notes, wearing sun glasses, and not any tiny sincerity and humble can be found in his video...
Sincerity Is Important
Recently many people do that. When they make a mistake, they make some apology through videos and share it through social media. That is a quick and effective way to mass communicate your intention, and if the video is eye catching or interesting, it can go viral too.
However... Is this way can be considered genuine for asking an apology? Is it not the video that is the problem, but the content and the intention is the problem.
My case with that bald person, he wore sunglasses and talked as if a rich rapper without any sincerity or talking as if he is above others without showing any single sorry or guilty feeling... Is that a genuine way to say "I am sorry" ?
Now with the intention, not all people who make apology videos are really having a good intention. Some are doing it for formality, so they can proudly say, hey I have made a formal apology there, it is up to them to accept it or not.
So they are making it for legal cause, and for image. When someone say hey I am sorry, but they make sure everyone will see it, and it will clear their name at that point... Is that a genuine apologization?
It's All Coming Back To You
When I was a small kid, my grand father always taught me that I must always ask for an apology, and prepare for the worst if that person could not accept it.
And when someone made a mistake and asked for an apology, I should accept it and moved on, because it would be a battle between my ego and the kindness in my heart.
The sad thing I recently often see is that whenever someone asking for an apology, that time that person thinks that he/she is entitled to get a forgiveness...
All I can say, WE ARE NOT GOD
Whether you will forgive them or not, it is back to yourself. I believe you are already a grown up, and you have hold your own value. yes our value and the way we see, perceive and judge will be change or evolve as we grow old and getting more experience.
But still, nobody is entitled to tell you what to do, and you are not entitled to get a forgiveness or acceptation for your apology too.
So decide it your self.
For me? As I said above, I believe forgiving people is about a war between your heart vs your ego. The world peace is not built by justice and equality, it is build by kindness and love.
