Good morning all hivians, and members of the hivelearners community, it’s another week for us to learn something new and now its another week for us to talk about something that would benefit us, not just knowledgeable but something we can apply to our life and would have an impact in our health.
Come with me as we discuss things on our mental and physical health.
When it comes to health, most people tend to focus on one side of the discussion, either the physical or the mental health without realizing that both are deeply interconnected. Physical health often gets the spotlight because it’s visible: regular exercise, balanced diets, medical checkups, and body fitness are easy to measure and track. Mental health, on the other hand, is more subtle but equally important, influencing how we think, feel, and handle daily stress. Without sound mental health, even the fittest body can struggle to function at its best; and without good physical health, the mind can become fatigued and strained.
There is something I have learnt over thr years, what ever is happening on your mental health has a way of affecting your physical body. When a person is sick and mentally, they believe they are not getting better or there is no change in their physical body, our mental health has a way it affect our physical body, either positively or negatively.
The truth is, mental and physical health should not be treated as separate entities competing for attention. They complement each other, and neglecting one often leads to the decline of the other. Let me break this down, there are things that happens to your physcial body that can cause you mental stress. If a person refuses to sleep for a long time over some period of day, trust me, not just the physical body will be at risk, but the mental health is also at risk, while poor nutrition can heighten anxiety and depression. Yes, our poor physical health can affect our mental health and having either of them suffering damage is not a good thing on our general health.
Its very common to see people ignore the mental health, and the society we live in will condemn any man who complains or talks about his mental health being affected. The society has seen men to be an absolute being who shouldnt complain about anything especially their mental health, they are meant to man up and face any challenges that comes at them and this is why you see some men slum and die. Sometimes their mental health has been so affected and damage that their physical body couldnt handle it again.
Mental and physical health are two sides of the same coin. Neither can be truly healthy if the other is neglected. The body needs exercise, rest, and good nutrition, while the mind requires peace, support, and a positive outlook. To achieve all-rounded health, we must strike a balance paying attention to both what is happening in our bodies and what is going on in our minds. After all, a sound body supports a sound mind, and a sound mind keeps the body going strong.
