How long I can stay without my phone

How long can I stay without my phone?

Forget oooh! (in Nigerian accent) I can actually go for long hours without my phone, even though I'm addicted to using it every now and then.
Before now, I mean when I didn’t have full control of my day and how I spent it, especially when I was working as an employed staff and needed to do away with my phone for some hours, I used to think I was being frustrated and forced to go against my lifestyle because I’m a phone person. I love being with my phone always because I earn from it, and it’s not just about the entertainment aspect....social media.

But now that I have myself to myself, controlling how I spend my day, I’ve come to understand that when the need arises, the phone will be kept aside to face reality, and it’s very necessary. It’s not frustrating or like starving oneself.

I can’t actually hit on the exact number of hours I’ve stayed without my phone on a willingness basis, but I’m sure none of those moments lasted up to 24 hours. No, no, I don’t think I can spend the whole 24hrs without my phone, and that’s because I haven’t been engaged in a type of work that would demand that. For me to engage in that kind of work, it means the job must be a good-paying one , not the $200 kind of job with authoritative management and so many unhealthy laws.

These days, even as I’m hustling as my own boss, there are times I push my phone aside to concentrate on work because it’s needed at that moment. Whenever such a moment comes, nothing about the phone is of importance to me. After all, I’ve been with the phone for the period before that moment.

My phone is very active, and sometimes I just have to find time to turn it off so it can regain itself. Yes, I pity my phone too because I feel it’s overworking. The moment I switch it off, it stays off for, say, 30 minutes or 1 hour, as the case may be. I used to do this at night whenever I wanted to sleep because I found it weird to turn off my phone and leave it off while I’m awake. But I had to change after being advised many times that it’s not good to turn off the phone at night.

Also, I can actually stay off my phone for a long time as long as my AirPods are connected. Maybe this is not the kind of “staying off” we’re referring to, but I do it often and it counts to me too, because I don’t do social media at that moment and I also don’t take calls. In fact, I don’t get calls often.

I work most times at night whenever there’s electricity, and being connected to music via my Airpod gives me strength to stay alive and awake all through the night. At that moment, I’ll be awake but away from my phone, and it lasts for long hours. Although, being away from the phone in this case is on a partial note because I’ll be connected with my AirPods while the phone is inside the house.

Loved reading your take! I totally get that vibe — when you're the one in control of your time, stepping away from the phone feels more like a choice than a punishment. And yes, even phones deserve a break sometimes!

Yeahhh.
You got it very correctly!
I would feel like I'm being frustrated if I'm instructed to stay off my phone. But when I do it on my own, it's purely a choice.

So with all these explanations, you still cannot do without your phone 😂😂

Lol,😅
I can stay off na but let it be that it's a serious thing that's taking me off because I would surely be tempted to go back if it's not a serious thing😅

Alright

that's great, you can put away your phone when you work as a staff, and that's work discipline

Yeahhh.
That's work discipline and it's good that someone adhere to that.
